I would rather lynch snb and hope for a vig shot on gambit... But I'm fine killing either today

We kill gambit man today. He ninja voted ET yesterday and he's said nothing. Eat shit and die, scum.

Whoa there buddy, we don't lynch lurkers here...we shoot scummy lurkers with holy bullets of townie fury....not hang them. How about we lynch someone who's posting so we can get information with our lynch?
Ya? No? I like your target other than the fact that his lynch will net us no new information.
|
No, I lynch scum and scum exist indiscriminately of their posting activity.
If we had no vigis and all 6 scum lurked, by your plan none of them would ever die. Can't have that, now can we?

after reading WBG's vote I was like "huh, who's that?"
and then I was like: G32's filter

We absolutely can't, and if I were convinced that all 6 scum were lurking I'd definitely be down with lynching a scummy lurker...but as it stands, D2, I personally would rather find active scum. You can count on my support if it's needed though Bugs...Gambit has definitely gotta go one way or the other.

Gambit's two posts sound a lot like newer mafia posting noncommital lists of reads and then not following them up.
However, I'd rather wait to vote until we've got a bit more information rather than during the first hour or two after the night post.
I'm also still waiting to hear an answer to my questions for stofu, his posts look similar to me.

Hi everybody!
I am counting on people giving me a break to read the thread, so don't expect too much from me immediately. At least I am replacing in fairly early into the game.
It's about time I won a game so I will be putting in the effort here. The roster looks good and from my initial read some of the vets are looking pretty townie so we have no reason not to win.
Note: To help get an idea on people's thoughts, please ask me some specific questions. It is always hard when catching up to get a feel for people because the timing of posts is hard to work out. So fire away and I will do my best.

I called out GambitX32 for only having one post during day 1. He proceeded to produce... one more post.

Either that or Zealos, but he's got some activity excuse until the second half of day 2 so there's not much point in prodding him.
I'd love to find active scum but I'm not even convinced that there are any.
|
All I'll say VE is that I'd rather not pigeonhole myself when it comes to killing scum. Scum are scum and they all flip red. No particular reason for me to prefer lynching the active ones over the inactives. I'd rather just kill them as they come and force the rest of them to deal with it however they want to.
|
I'd prefer targets other than Gambit. When you called him out yesterday, you said he hadn't voted and had posted two unhelpful walls of text. The walls weren't helpful at all, but he DID vote.
That plus a claimed hit is the extent of the case on Gambit.
If we're lynching players for lurking and looking scummy when they don't, everyone seems pretty set that Zealos looks actively scummy. Why should we lynch Gambit based off your claimed hit and poor posting, when Zealos has had poor posting and seems less likely to modkill himself out of the game?

Um, how about we lynch Gambit cause he's a scummy lurker instead of whatever you think the reasoning is?
|
If we're looking to lynch Gambit because he's a scummy lurker, why should I vote him over Zealos?
If we're looking to lynch inactivity/lurking, why should I vote Gambit over cwave and phagga?
I'm happy to vote Gambit if there's a reason that doesn't apply to 2 or 3 others. If we're just going to go after "scummy lurkers," I'd prefer to go after the one that's least likely to get modkilled for inactivity. Zealos is the only one of those 4 that's managed to post every cycle.
Don't get me wrong here, lurking mafia won my last game easy. We DID hit the point that the only scum left were lurkers, and town just killed itself off. I'm absolutely not against lynching into our lurkers. But mainly I want to know why Gambit over Zealos.
|
Bugs what do you think of Zealos? Could you get down on a lynch like that?
|
Well, ideally Gambit would realise that the pressure on him is serious, and post enough as a result that we can tell whether he's scum or town. I'm never sure what the right amount of pressure is though. I tried the half-assed method and that got one post out of him.
To complete the nightkill list, MZ's public scumreads were Kitaman and Mattchew.
|
So he should live because he voted?
The fuck kind of defense is that?

I thing the right amount of pressure is to just lynch him ^^

I don't think he should live, I think he should eat fiery vigilante justice....Zealos has actually posted though and I feel much more comfortable with a Zealos lynch personally.
