That's interesting. He's right, the title in my role PM does say "Vanilla Towny" rather than "Town". Is that exact role name public anywhere else? If not, then I may have to reconsider Snarfs....

Can you guys please give me something concrete to defend myself against?
I've explained already that I was not on my computer all day yesterday and the day before that I was at a St. Patty's party. When Wiggles started I was on my computer, ready to go and was able to respond to things as they happened in the thread. This time, I have not had a chance to respond to things until just this morning.
I thought my reasoning for Nemesis was solid. There wasn't much to go on for most people and Nemesis was spending most of his time either calling out lurkers or simply asking questions of people then disappearing. Since my vote, he has provided solid scum hunting and I no longer feel like he is a good lynch candidate for today.
First off ,I don't think Nemesis is going down today, and I liked how collected he was in responding to my vote so that's off. He didn't get overly emotional or respond irrationally, which is what I would have expected from scum in his position.
I was wrong to say that first part. I can definitely see how scummy it looks and you guys are very right to bring that up. I don't have a lot I can say about that. It was just before my morning coffee and if I was typing that over again, I would say it.

Sigh Snarfs, if that's indeed true I'm not sure if it's allowed in the game. The thing you pointed out about johnny/tobon is a good catch, but not damning because if you know you are vanilla you don't necessarily go back to your role and look at the exact naming. Also it's possible that wbg provides scum with the true role names or just messed up on your pm since the op says Vanilla town and hosts normally use the same name to avoid this type of confirmation based on role pms to happen. Anyway I need to rethink my stance on you. Care to contribute something original in the meanwhile? You may get modkilled for that so if you are town you need to get out your thoughts quickly.

I've seen in other games people get noted for claiming a role that doesn't match up with what the actual role is. People called Palmar out in my last game for claiming Vanilla Town when the role was just Town. That's why I figured the titles of the roles were okay.

Honestly, I think if I'm going to be mod killed it's best if I don't post any more. It wouldn't be fair. If I misinterpreted the rule then that's my own fault and I should have asked for clarification before posting that.

It's actually rule 11. Breadcrumbing the specific phrasing of your role PM. Do not compare the phrasing in your role PM to prove your alignment. You can claim the abilities you have, but you can't use the specific phrasing of your role PM.
But I agree it's probably fair to wait for wbg to respond.

However I do not know if you're allowed to talk about the phrasing of your PMs and I'd like you to stop talking about that stuff as long as WBG isn't here.

I'm not sure I'll read the thread a couple more times. I don't really like jonny or tobon as lynches though.

After some deliberation, I'm moving my vote to Dirkzor. This Snarfs' thing needs to be dealt with, but I'm observing the possibility that with this "breadcrumbing" thing (whether it was against the rules or not) might show him to be town.
I'll be gone until after the cycle flip (sports practice), so I'm throwing my vote somewhere it might be useful.

Discussing the specific wording of role PMs is against the rules.
However, I will not be punishing players for it right now because the in-game punishment for trying to confirm alignment with out-of-game relevant material should be enough.
On the other hand, if players abuse my leniency and continue to blatantly discuss it, I will begin cracking down.
Example role PMs have been provided in the third post of this thread. There is no guarantee that your role PM will look like that.

We disagree about johnnywub, (BL thinks he scummy LB thinks the case against him was empty and that he is not scummy)
We both think Jackal looks about as scummy as he typically does
BL thinks Tobon looks scummy and LB cant find a reason to disagree
LB thinks that scum tend to call out bullshit on claims and that we should lynch one of the first people to respond to a Vanilla town or mason claim, so that is Nemesis or Probulous.
