Still waiting to hear back from Zona. Edit: and by that I mean once Zona's game starts (assuming it does), you can host the massive game!

We'll wait our turn in the cue but when we put our game up we need absolute cooperation from people who already play. EVERYONE has to sign up for this game. I'll be PMing former players and asking them if they want to play. If when this game comes up you feel you dont have time to play then at least put yourself down as a coach (but please remember that mafia trumps RL). I'd like two more cohosts please PM me if you're interested and you've played five games and hosted/cohosted one. For this game we'll be using the TLMafiaBot account I made so that, regardless of who is on, an official response can be given to any questions/misbehaviors. We need something major to whip up interest. Since it'll be a bit before this game goes up I expect to see some blogs trumpeting how awesome we are. Also keep that sidebar thread bumped. Did you get permission from the TL staff to hold a game in S&G/general? This seems like something that we should run by them before we create a thread. EDIT: Never mind, GMarshal is asking who to PM about it. I would PM Plexa, but it might be better to ask Flamewheel who to PM just in case the staff liason has changed. While I like the initiative, I recommend holding off on this idea until January. One major problem with games this big is that they tend to last a while. You are getting dangerously close to exam season/ holiday season right now and that tends to result in a large number of people going inactive because of other obligations. I don't want to see this game ruined by that.

In the meantime I just wanted to anounce that iGrok and Mr. Wiggles will be the other two cohosts for the game. So it's clear, GM, those two, and I will all be joint hosts. We're equal in terms of who's "host" and who's "cohost."

I am clearly the main host and the rest of you are twitching inferior-hosts that will do my bidding! *evil laugh* Not really though, shared hosting should be fun, as long as I get to play with lightning!

i dont like advertising for zona's game. it has a custom ruleset, uncommon roles, doesnt use our standard op format etc. i think it will be a good game, but too advanced for bringing in new players.

You shouldn't be lynched very often, regardless of your alignment, and there is almost no excuse for an early lynch (other than an early DT check or something like that). If you are, that is something you should probably try to fix.

If you aren't sold on that, there is a massive game coming up in sports and games, which might be a good place to start (along with dozens of others, I'm sure) As for how time consuming it is, it takes at least an hour a day to keep up, much more than that to play actively. The other day I blew 4+ hours writing one post.

Is there a specific time we have to get on or do we just have to check it daily The time consumption really depends on how much you're willing to put in. Lots of people will not play in a game if they know they cannot commit the amount of time they would optimally like. For instance, I could play in a game now, but I do not have enough time to put in the effort I would like to play. Thus I do not play because I do not feel I would be putting my best foot forward. But for a first time, I would say if you are able to check the thread at least twice a day (say once in the morning once at night around lynch time) then you should be fine. (By check the thread I mean read it, write responses, and respond to PMs if necessary).

I'm fine with hosting a mini after palmar's is over if you don't have anyone ready. or just re-open groks game.

I don't expect signups to be a problem.

http://www.boardgameinfo.com/review/15/15419-The-Resistance http://forums.sirlin.net/showthread.php?p=126793#post126793 I think we can try this as an alternative for a minigame, because it works best with 7-9 players. While it depends more on people actually following through with the game and staying active, some might enjoy the fact that noone ever dies, at worst a player is tagged as Spy early and is never sent on missions, but he´s still there to vote and discuss, and always has a chance to redeem himself if mission where he doesn´t participate go badly. Another problem is the high number of votes, if a Town Leaders suggestion is voted down, then there´s soon another vote on the next plan, possibly turning the discussion for one mission into a week-long affair of suggestions and voting.
