I'm going to start off first by saying I don't care how poorly you played (and I'm not even implying that you played poorly - I honestly haven't had time to follow the game closely enough to tell. I'll have to read it in its entirety later). As long as you were giving the game a good faith effort, that is good enough for me. I see a big difference between playing poorly and playing in a way that is detrimental to the game as a whole (such as ridiculous inactivity or spamming the thread with irrelevant posts). So don't worry about that. In fact, your activity levels and good faith playing are definitely a point in your favor. That being said, I'll try to address the real issues here. So from what I can tell, you made a post that wasn't technically against the rules, but was definitely against the spirit of the game and you should have known that, especially considering you played in Mafia XX which had similar policies about using outside material to affect the game: On March 09 2010 15:16 flamewheel91 wrote: Strategic modkills are NOT allowed, either. That being said, you reasoned that it was not a legitimate way to play the game and edited your post (again, you should probably talk to the host before you do something like that or at least give the host a heads-up about what it originally said just in case he thinks it is okay and tells you to put it back in the post). You talked about it for a little while after editing, but stopped when Ace gave you a warning. So at this point, you're probably on thin ice. (After that?) you edited a few more posts for spelling errors. Were you warned about editing by anyone before you edited again? If not, it isn't a big deal. Just try to be careful about that. It's a hard habit to break. The PM was bad (again, I would have asked the host before doing something like that). You probably shouldn't have done it. Even though it wasn't related to the game itself, it was still bad. Worse, you used his reaction to the PM (which shouldn't be a part of anything game-related) as reasoning for nuking him. This is starting to look to me like the PM WAS game-related. So in summary, you made a questionable move and got warned for it. Then you broke the rules again. On the other hand, you have a history of being an active, mannered player. I'm right on the line between strong warning and a 1 game ban, in which case I would defer to the host because he is the king of his castle. By playing in his game, you play by his rules and defer to his judgment about breaking those rules. Obviously, there are some limits to what he can do, but in general, his word is the law for everything related to that thread until the game is over. Did I get any of this wrong? I'd like Ace to go over the facts as I've stated them here (assuming they're correct) and make a judgment on this. Sorry, Xelin; I'm trying to be as fair as possible with this. It will definitely not be worse than a 1-game ban, though you may not be able to count Zona's games because it has to be a game that you would have been able to play in if you hadn't been on the ban list, and let's face it: he's pissed at you. I really hope this doesn't kill your motivation to play here. We need all the active players we can get. | ||

One game won't be bad XeliN, just remember when you do decide to sit out a game you let the host (and preferably Qatol as well) know about it so that way we can know to take you off the list. | ||

I'll sit out of the next game that is hosted, hopefully it is not a standard style one as I enjoy them. Although I have to say the game Ace put together in the last was oustandingly good in terms of how it was put together | ||

Sucks to be modkilled on the last night, but everybody knew it was lylo... And even though claims of "oh I thought I had another day" come to mind, none of the 3 but Haster were being active, so I feel it's well deserved. Only one game though, right? | ||
