New Ban List Thread Rules If the ban is not a standard inactivity modkill, do not ask me to unilaterally make a decision as to punishment without at least consulting the host of the game. I will not do it. If you ask repeatedly, I will give you a ban list ban. If I tell you to stop discussing a topic in a ban discussion, you drop it. I don't care what your opinion on the relevance of the subject is, you drop it. Similarly, if I tell you to stop spamming the ban list thread, you stop. Personal attacks towards me during ban list discussions are unacceptable. I know you are angry at what is going on, but that doesn't mean you can insult me. It isn't like I get paid for doing what I do. All I ask for is a little respect. I will consult with whoever my replacement host is, and if we both agree that what you said was over the line, you get a ban list ban. Coagulation I'm sick of this ban discussion, so I'm just going to treat it as a special circumstance (due to other things that happened in the game). Is everyone okay with giving him a 1 game ban, but treating it as his second ban list ban (so if he is banned again, he gets 5 games)? Also, use of forms of the word "fuck" and capslock abuse are bannable offenses for him. Capslock abuse Are people okay with me adding capslock abuse in general to bannable offenses? I really see no reason for it and it tends to escalate already emotional situations. Profanity I feel that players are starting to get too long of a leash with thier use of profanity in game. I encourage hosts to be more proactive about warning/banning players for this. Qatol replacement As the OP states, Incognito was supposed to be the person to replace me if I am too involved in a ban situation or the banned player requests it. However, Incognito has left TL mafia for the foreseeable future. This means there is a vacancy. There are a few criteria for this position, however: 1. You have to be willing to sit out a game every now and then. I don't have a lot of free time. I also don't feel comfortable moderating a discussion when I am a player in that game or the host of that game. Therefore, if I want to play or host, you have to be willing to sit out. 2. You have to work well with me. This is pretty straightforward. I am going to have to interact with you. So if we don't get along, that would be problematic. 3. You have to be willing to give your opinion on most ban list discussions, even if you are not moderating the ban. 4. You have to be well regarded by the community as a whole. From the thread, I see a few people recommended. Incognito has also recommended someone: Flamewheel. He is my first choice because I know I interact with him well and he doesn't tend to blow up at people. However, I understand that people may be concerned about him after the Protactinium situation. Are people okay with Flamewheel in this position? Zorkmid It looks like he is gone (he was green2). Does anyone have a problem with me putting him on the semi-permanent bans and just having a discussion about him if he decides to return for whatever reason? It sounds like what he did was pretty bad. Ban List discussions I see comments mentioning that the ban list discussions are becoming a little too complicated, and I agree. I suggest going back to the way that it used to be - only hosts have a vote (you can see this in BM's ban after PYP1). I suggest that you only get a vote if you have hosted or actively cohosted (so you actually have to do a lot of stuff as a cohost) in 2 normal games (5 games is too much - that eliminates everyone except Caller and Chuiu, and mini games don't give enough experience imo). Anyone may chime in with their opinion to persuade the hosts, but only the hosts votes matter. Also, the host and cohost of that game get votes worth 1.5 of a vote.
