No, it's not justified. The amount of mafia players who have played a few games here and left due to other players' elitism (for lack of better word) probably outnumbers the number of current mafia players (I'm exaggerating but you get the point). There has been a huge effort recently to overcome this problem as we have lost good players who felt it unreasonable to deal with people on this site who spam and use swear words as a way to put down others. The best thing you and anyone else can do is not make a scene when an issue such as Scaramanga's case comes up. Be mature about it, and know that this is a legit problem that people are working hard to fix. The post DrH made not only makes Scaramanga's position even more justified, but it also discredits DrH as another one of "those guys" that people will try hard to avoid talking to as much as possible (not saying your a bad guy dude, just saying that's the impression people could get out of that post).
This problem is a circular effect: when some fix their attitudes, others come in to take up the slack they once held.

I'm also on the fence about a permakill, because he didn't actually manage to really RUIN anything... just threatened to.
Actually, I must have missed something while I was away. All he did was roleclaim (allowed), say someone was red (also allowed) then flame a bunch of people (kind of allowed) and then said he was done with this shit (uncool). Also, it wasn't entirely unprovoked, there were a lot of people basically taking a shit on him leading up to his ragequit.
Maybe a 2-game ban instead of 1? I guess it doesn't really matter that much anyway, he doesn't seem like he wants to come back.

Was he serious about saying SouthRawrea being red? dunno how DT checks work but making sure that they dont get the results right away after pming RoL.

Are the two posts that 'provoked' him, and honestly that is pretty tame compared to what has happened in most games. Scara took it too far, and pretty much took a shit all over the game. Even after he knew he was going to get modkilled, he tried to mess up the game even more by faking a DT result on SouthRawrea. If stuff is getting to you, talk to the mod of the game.

Scara was let because I let him in. Everyone else would have had to sit out. The reason for this is the issue that gave scara a 3 game series of bans was from like 4-6 months ago in which we have had many many many games of mafia played using the ban list.
Now, as for current issue. 1 game ban. I say this from being in similar positions to him before and raging on players for it. A collective of hosts could potentially outvote my decision, but as it stands, 1 game ban.

James, as it stands this is not his first offense, and we give one game bans to first time offenders. Ergo, your punishment is too light anyway.
I'm leaning toward something very heavy, either permanent or something close to it, given that it's been stated that he wanted to ruin the game for others on purpose.

Scara acted like an asshole, he is raging now but I am sure he would want to play within a year but that behavior was completely uncalled for, it didn't seem too extreme and he stopped talking a little bit after his modkill. I don't care what you guys do about the mafia ban, I asked Plexa to temp ban him for a couple of days because I think for the moment that creates more of an impact on the bullshit he pulled.
Maybe he didn't go as ape shit as BM did, but still. It was a learning game and the above posts I would barely qualify as an adequate provocation for his reaction. Southrawrea should avoid the ad hominem attacks, but it was pretty minor, he just called Scara's analysis shit which I guess could be construed as being harsh, but I don't think it was too bad, worth a warning but nothing beyond that.
As far as Mafia banning goes, I will side with the consensus, whatever you guys think my vote will go with. I think any attack at the game and the effort put into it is the highest offense anyone can commit in mafia, even if its just the threat of it.

Wow another attitude ban? This is getting much. Looking back at Scara's history, he gave away the mafia list in TL Mafia XXII before. Is this a chronic attitude problem?
I'll agree with Foolishness that people have left because of flaming or whatnot, but I don't think that's the case here, where Scara claims hes tired of not being able to appease anyone. Honestly, I don't buy that argument. What I will agree on is that some of the provocation was pretty uncalled for. He was being reasonable until South's post, where he completely lost it. But I think the general trend is overreaction from Scara. I'm not going to make a judgment here, but Scara's previous incident should probably be considered before making a final decision.

It looks like Plexa resolved this for us. Scaramanga can no longer access this forum. I guess I'll put him as a semi-permanent ban then?
Scaramanga was just temp banned for 2 weeks by Plexa.

Reason: Throughout your time here at TL there has been a common theme: a lack of respect. Initially it was towards your fellow forum members, then it was towards our staff. Your recent actions in the mafia thread are completely inline with your disrespectful attitude. Your access to mafia is revoked, and should you continue your disrespectful attitude post ban you will be permed.

If he had a problem with the mods in other areas of TL then it's only right that his access is removed. It's a privilege to post here to begin with, and the mafia forum has been created as another fun aspect for the TL community... a privilege for the privileged members. Sucks because he was always cool w/ me
