In this case, I say warning.
I am under the impression that if Qatol, Ver, Ace, Incog, myself, flamewheel, pyrr or any of the hosts of Mafia, or anyone who has contributed heavily for a long period of time in this community would get at least a bit of slack in terms of inactivity. I more say this because without the core group of us, we would most likely not still have TL mafia games, or the TL mafia forum itself.
I would say let caller away with a warning, it doesn't appear that he undermined the game in terms of rule breaking, so would get away this one time. Moocow should have a 1 game ban however.

Moocow got a warning because he told the host about his circumstances in advance and because it didn't have a major effect on the game. It's pretty much in line with how we dealt with RoL and TyranoS_NiveK

Oh hi~~~
First off, it was my mistake for not reading the modkill provision properly. I didn't see a specific voting thread so thought that voting would happen in the regular thread. I also thought that saying something would have been enough for then, and I was trying to be mysterious as usual.
Second of all, I had a very good reason for feigning inactivity, which I won't explain because it involves my intended playstyle for that game and could potentially affect the results.
I don't think there's any need to give me a warning here. I did violate the rules, even if I do trollolol my way to victory otherwise. It's perfectly justified to give me a one game ban because as flamewheel mentioned above, justice should be blind.
However, it has always been my policy before modkilling someone to spam the persons in danger of modkilling with PMs to inform them shortly before they actually get modkilled. While I realize this is a bit of effort for the host whom already has many more responsibilities and cannot micromanage every single player, one most also understand that people often don't have time to read notifications in the thread, especially when it would be effecting my playstyle. For a more indepth discussion of my play, please request one through PM as I don't want to effect the outcome of the game. I thought my vote was perfectly legitimate until I just checked the posts today.
Regardless of whatever concerns I have with the modkill policy, however, the fact remains that I did break the rules and get modkilled, and there shouldn't be leniency given to anybody. However, as I have stated multiple times before, the banlist is very subjectively enforced. For instance, although I might be banned for a game, what would stop me from hosting one in due course? It seems rather silly for people to enforce a boycott of a mafia game because of something that really is fairly trivial.
TLDR: No Warning: Give me the standard 1-Game Ban: I reserve the right to choose to enforce or not enforce said banlist: PM me if you wanted to know my gameplan: Make the modkill system more conducive to both player and host:
P.S. L needs to die.
P.P.S. ze

P.P.S. ze Well I guess that resolves that. Ban it is.
I would like some clarification about how it is subjectively enforced though. I'm trying to keep it as objective as possible while still allowing a little bit of leniency/flexibility.
Why should we stop you from hosting a game? The purpose of this thread is to provide negative reinforcement for certain styles (or lack thereof) of playing. Hosting =/= playing.
Do you have a better idea for encouraging activity? I don't think anyone wants to go back to the old days where 1/3 of the players would just go inactive day 1 and never be seen again, leaving the town to try and sift through the inactives to try and find the lurking mafia. I agree that this system isn't perfect and am definitely open to suggestions for improvement.
EDIT: As far as the PMing thing goes, I do the same, but I understand that it takes time and don't fault Flamewheel for not wanting to babysit the players in his games.

You know the hierarchy on this forum makes more people run away then it should. If the person is modkilled for inactivity, they should get a ban, regardless of who it is.

Thank you Caller for your response. I used to your suggestion--spamming warning PMs--though I forgot about it this time around, and I'm sorry for that (besides, figured L would warn you). I'll make a more active effort to prevent modkills through PMing again. Though really, this ban list is, as you correctly stated, subjective. Some hosts will follow, some will not, and this definitely has no bearing upon whether or not you would like to host a game, since as Qatol pointed out: this ban list is for playing.
Since we're setting precedence I suppose I might as well stand by the fact that I'd push for an impartiality system. True, without the hosts and veterans of the Mafia forum this place would not exist today, and yes, true, TL main is moderated in a way that hosts and veterans get leniency, though I still say we exist in a democracy here. After all, it's not like one person decides the lynch... unless he's the mayor. In which case, he was fairly elected. Perhaps though there can be some way that hosts are given more leniency... an extra step between 1 => 3 => life, but my mind's still working on that and I'm tired.
ilu still Caller~

Yeah for the future I'm feel the same as BC. If the offender's track record is unblemished and they are a huge contributor it seems counterproductive to ban them. The point of the ban list is to to enforce rules and weed out the useless inactives, not to prevent our most prolific contributors from participating.
If it's just a missed vote warn them and double ban if it happens again. On the other hand if they go Showtime on us, that might be a different story.
