Yeah, I'm rather surprised at how happy they are too. I'd have a lot of mixed feelings winning gold in such circumstances myself.

Ah well.
China is relgated like the brits were. Shouldnt have got in the final, shouldnt have won the final. Going home with a gold medal. From Bronze to gold due to two veryyyyy minute and hard choices by the judges. Was their final time faster than Australia in the bronze match? If so they wouldnt have got shit. No, it wasn't. TT Rofl. Australia 32.727s Germany 32.798s So germany wen't from 4th to gold due to two very minute argueable mistakes. They really deserved that gold ! Please be aware that the german team was faster than australia in the semifinals, which is the reason they and not australia replaced GB in the finals. You might also argue germany saw they lost the final and didn't give everything until the last metres. edit: germany's time in the semifinal was also faster than any time australia put up. Just saying. People go faster early in the day and being able to recover or not using all your energy is important. The time Germany set in the heats they were not able to replicate, also it is very difficult to see your opponent on the track it is doubtful they slow down. It should have been fourth.

And not really much that can be done in cycling other than get faster cameras to check the change overs and allow appeals.
All of them can be changed for the better with ease.

Shouldn't forget boxing - one referee put on probation, one sent home right away up to now after questionable decisions.

Yeah, it wouldn't be hard to change them. But often times sports seem reluctant to change anything even if there is a problem which could be solved easily.

They were happy when they won the silver medal, should they suddenly be sad because they won gold?

Rules are rules. If you fuck up an exchange in a relay race, you will be disqualified, even if you are in front by a mile. You guys make it sound like Germany cheated their way to victory.

I said mixed feelings, not sad, mixed. Of course you feel happy about getting the gold, but I personally would not feel the same joy which one gets from winning something undisputed.

Cycling is where it's at man. Smashing records left and right like this makes for a great spectacle.
Very envious of the people in the Velodrome. ;_;

damn Chris Hoy is such a boss, wish he was in sprint although I like Kenny
