A great enthusiasm but terrible suggestions. No wonder american high profile sports are so retarded. Even journalist are begging to transform a sport into a show ...

Are there any proof they are using dope or any other steroids? Stop this bullshit... please... The facts are they won two gold medals and broke world records. Thats the facts that you cant deny.
Are you telling us you were an olympic athlete before? if not you are not even comparable to these athletes who compete in the world's most prestigious competition. I m not sure who is stupid and arrogant here.

Again stop these false accusations... I dont care if you are a rower... these are the best weightlifters in the world... I dont see you in the olympics so just shut up and stop looking down and degrading these athletes without any kind of proof.
show us proof then you can smack talk but before that please dont...not all weightlifters are dopers. Doping only improves and increases their abilities by a little to gain that edge. Even without dope these are best of the best athletes. Even if you used dope you wouldnt even make it to the olympics so stop degrading them.

the fact you're blind enough to not being able to recognize that your lovely discipline is plagued by doping is amazing. http://sports.nationalpost.com/2012/07/28/albanian-weightlifter-banned-from-olympics-after-failed-doping-test/
the fact that they're bad enough to be caught contrary to most ppl is quite surprising tho.
http://www.lequipe.fr/Halterophilie/Actualites/Deux-turcs-ecartes/301081 two turks receiving a no-go for London from their federation after doping scandal. same for Marzena Karpinska (polish) and Aurimas Didzbalis (Lithuanian)
Two former olympic champ are suspended : Taylan Nurcan & Liao Hui
Nick ROBERTS (canadian trainer) have been suspended 2years since the 20th of february 2012
I'm pretty sure that most of the athletes at the best level in the sports i like are doped since there is so little control and you just have to be a step ahead of the anti-doping measures, i'm just not fool enough to doubt it.

If you like Weightlifting I advise you not to read it because it'll piss you off. You have been warned.
+ Show Spoiler +The fact that some of them are doped is only a side story. The whole contest is laughable, it's not a sport and the fact that I'm not able to compete in Weightlifting is a testament of my mental sanity. Some people think it's fine to train your whole body to do 2 things (looking big aka ego contest, and lifting stuff a skill only useful where you are moving to another house and even then their power is burst like so not really that useful), I see that contest as a degradation of human capacities; the antithesis of a sport which is supposed to extend mankind's abilities.
Do they work hard ? They sure do and I can respect their work ethic because I know I couldn't do the same work but that doesn't mean I have to respect them as Athletes. For the exact same reason I have little consideration for people who are hitting the gym to grow their muscle as their end goal. It's just demeaning to me.

I don't know the details of weightlifting cause I don't care for it, but it's not like its the only sport with issues.
I was just listning to an op ed about how the new olympic boxing scoring system is a complete disaster for instance.
Every sports is plagued with problems and corruption of its own. Some might have more than others but whatever. No point in singling one out. Its actually just better to not get into these things if you want to enjoy the event. There's so much to get mad about behind the scenes if you look for it.

I don't even watch weightlifting at all, I just find it amazing that you just waltz in here with complete disrespect for people who work very hard every day and are at the top of a widely practiced discipline just because you have some stupid bias that prevents you from appreciating it lol. Replace weightlifting with any other olympic event and everything you said is just as laughable.

Please note that I am not complaining about anything, I literally don't care about weightlifters. People like you are throwing the word respect around, but I give respect as I see fit and not for your pleasure. I was slightly making fun of weightlifting before someone decided I was WRONG and that one had to fight for GREAT JUSTICE.
If you enjoy weightlifting or hitting the gym, that's great for you and I'm glad that you find happiness in what you do / watch. That alone tramples the opinion I have of everything you love.
There is nothing better than being passionnate about the things you love. - Day[9]
But you have to accept that people have different opinions and that your anger won't change that.

Congratulation, you are the perfect exemple why i usually stay the hell away from the Olympic thread on TL. QQing while you dont have a clue what you're talking about and who couldnt hold a candle againt any types of athletes in the world. So I put a warning, you read what I wrote and you post a ad hominem attack ! Well answered sir ! You couldn't have played that better. - Day[9]But you have to accept that people have different opinions and that your anger won't change that. I stand by what i said

The world will inevitably end up loving the great leader and ask North Korea for information about how to do it! I hear that anabolic steroids are your friend. As long as you do not have to compete while taking it. It must be quite an advantage having a national anti-doping agenture, who teaches you how to dupe doping controls instead of working against your winning-chances! On their behalf, fuck you! They didn't work that hard and make that goddamn awesome performance, that you wouldn't be able with all the steroids in the world, for you to shittalk about politics instead of sports. Did they actually fail any drug test? Can you prove any of the nonsense you're saying? Give the men some damn respect, they definitely earned it. Weightlifting ? Respect ? ROFL ! ? What's wrong with weightlifting...? These guys work harder in a month than you do your whole life lol. I am a rower. Best athletes overall with Decathletes and Swimmers and it's a technical sport ... So yeah I despise Weightlifting whose Athletes are nothing more than doped showers who can't use their muscle for anything except what they are trained to do. Again stop these false accusations... I dont care if you are a rower... these are the best weightlifters in the world... I dont see you in the olympics so just shut up and stop looking down and degrading these athletes without any kind of proof. show us proof then you can smack talk but before that please dont...not all weightlifters are dopers Here is my opinion on Weightlifting, I spoilered it because I don't want to ruin the mood of the Olympics. If you like Weightlifting I advise you not to read it because it'll piss you off. You have been warned. + Show Spoiler +The fact that some of them are doped is only a side story. Since when does being passionate about something mean you have to literally shit on everything else? I don't think day9 encourages people going to LoL streams and telling them their game is bad.
