I think though hai getting owned in conjunction with meteos' playstyle is what ruins balls' individual tempo. When C9 were running strong meteos was frequently making a party happen at top lane whenever he left jungle, here at worlds though meteos can't farm like he wants to because he has to prevent hai from getting out of control (which happens anyway 1/10/1 zed the dream). I really don't want to be lazy and just say "hai blows" but he just dies way too often to give meteos the freedom of his playstyle which is normally when C9 works best is when meteos is free to take the reins of the game which he normally transfers to balls since sneakynation normally hold up fine 2v2.

At worlds I feel like C9 had a very hai oriented playstyle which was basically "hai dies, let him do it and trade it off and we'll convert it into advantages for balls/sneaky". Throw him on an assassin like zed/talon and let him run around dying, as long as he got enough farm to duel people he's enough of a threat 10 deaths or not and the team just rushes objectives (which was bolstered by rumble's return for balls since he could basically equalise (EHEUHUEHUEHE) the numbers advantage). I just think that rat LoL is really not what C9 is good at, their calls for shots and shots for calls are great which makes rat LoL work but rat LoL mainly just made their games look close, in their big win vs NJWS it was normal teamfight focus that let balls/sneaky take the reins of the game that worked best

Even in the game they were wrecking super hard, they made some calls that made it clear who's getting sacrificed--like the first Dragon in game 1 that Balls tped down for. Slight advantage for C9 as a whole, but massive loss of individual tempo for Balls. That's simply not a call you'd make if you're playing based on Balls being your best and most important player because you'd value his development highly enough in that situation for it not to be worth it on the whole.

If namei can step it up and go even in lane, Uzi will look like a scrub in teamfights.

EDG will laneswap every game, Starhorn are absolutely retarded in laneswaps and it saves NaMei from Uzi/Zero.

just as a correction, without lee's E attack speed slow rengar actually beats him in early duels now so it is a mistake to think otherwise.

EDG have always got the best of other Chinese teams, idk if they continue though after that abysmal group stage.

EDG do have a track record of giving up stupid losses during the regular season of LPL before winning playoffs in 2 hours. But still I agree even by EDG's mediocre pre-playoffs record they looked abnormally poor

SAVING STRATS.

Dunno, i still don't see Starhorn winning it, if EDG just play at least, mediocre.
Laneswap NaMei, force corn onto Yasuo, ban Ryze.

Free elo.

Even though, if Clearlove and NaMei are going to be that underwhelming still, meh.

The real reason EDG will beat starhorn is because they're awful and zero will die for their sins :>

Because when you're getting forced to jungle Maokai in KT Bullets, you're done there.

there's a reason why we rarely saw the 2v1's from korean teams, and edg.

Even if it's slightly off meta, it's easiest way to abuse Starhorn and escape EDG's only real weakness - their atrocious early game + Clearlove is useless anyway, stealing bunch of experience from him won't hurt a lot.

SHRC are playing every laneswap in same way - Uzi shoves his lane, gets tower, goes to other side of map, shoves there, tax Cola more and more, then comes mid and taxes corn as well, basically, accumulating more and more.
EDG teamfighting is good enough to remove one threat instantly, even if it's Uzi with Zero peel and by forcing Corn not onto Orianna and Cola not on Ryze, which makes us assume that Koro1 will play Maokai into Jax/Irelia with higih priority every game, it's secured wins for EDG.

should have worded it better, I meant we didn't see the 2v1's in group stage***

no one wants to reveal how they play the 2v1, unless they have to.

wouldn't be surprised if EDG try standard lanes first game, and lose.

We've seen plenty of laneswaps so far, they just don't play out as the 2v1's that we saw for however long it was the thing to do.

I will be so mad if I wake up at 7.00am and EDG play like they did in group stage.

My impression of the C9 games:

C9 can only win against strong teams when they got sufficiently far ahead in the early game that Hai derping does not impact the game.
