something tell me the mod note might get updated soon :p

I feel the fnatic fans pain. It must be very painful to watch a team you like consistently ignore the best possible strategies for getting them victories.

Man, Riot can be called out for this, especially after how they worded homeguard's description a previous patch note. You don't play around with such things with so much on the line. "Oooh sorry, we made a typo ack then!" - or something like that. Not cool at all and they are so lucky it happened now and between these teams who will be eliminated in the quarters anyway. If it happened in the last game of the finals there would be no excuse to dismiss such a huge oversight, which might happen only once in a million games, but they got unlucky and it happened to be one on the world's stage.
Yes, these are ifs, but the nexus had like 20 hp, so I think an ant-sized if is already more than enough for a possible remake. I still wouldn't call for one as Fnatic because they had soooooooooooo many ways to ensure victory. Soaz alone had many different ones, but Cyanide not using locket was fatal as well.

Not cancelling recall is not = nullifying the damage taken. You can recall with damage taken - okay -, but still activate homeguard, which is a BUG if you word homeguard in a way it says it won't activate after you take damage.
edit: btw, Kha even took health damage, but it doesn't matter, since it's been proven it already that homeguard gives 0 fucks if you take it in the last moment.

All I know is I'm hoping for the 4 way tie in group C and the 3 way tie in group D. With all these crazy results I want to see the winners come out in tie-breakers to settle it all.
Also props to EU with all the games they've been taking off the koreans. super impressive. If NA goes another tournament without beating a Korean team imma say EU>NA definitively.
also teams, pls ban Irelia/Lee from Alliance. EU is also 0-4 vs. China while NA is 2-1 vs. China... saying that EU > NA is a pretty big stretch when they went even otherwise. EU teams can beat KR teams though, while NA can't. Dunno if I want to count SK's games since they were pretty much done for without Sven. EU 0-2 vs China and NA 2-1 vs China doesn't seem that important when comparing against the only losses of Koreans in this tournament being to Europeans. Head to head between EU vs NA is even as well so I'm inclined to give the edge to EU here. Essentially it's a matter of what's better- beating the 1st place team but losing to 2nd place, or losing to the 1st place team but beating 2nd place? I think the former is more impressive especially with Korea being so dominant while China looks vulnerable. NA definitely seems more consistent but EU seems to have the higher ceiling at the moment.
yeah it seems like EU teams are more clutch than NA teams. Fnatic and Alliance step up HARD when playing vs. Korean teams, and NA teams seem like they just play at their average level which never works.

tbh, im pretty sure the most important thing is making it out of groups, not winning vs korean teams or winning vs chinese teams.

Chinese are gonna play Chinese in quarters and it'l be NA/EU vs Koreans losing all the other ones as well. The only way people can pound their chest about regional strength between the two, since there's been a lot of 1-1s, is to shift to the vs China/Korea results in group.
Though I agree, making it out of groups means more from any reasonable standpoint.

We should have been past that point already.
There's such a huge drop off from Irelia to Wickds other champions. It's not like he's a new player to the scene either.

Out of curiosity what are the Chinese fans saying about the Homeguard bug? Anyone know?

I think the only thing I'm willing to say based on these Bo1 results(and actually having watched all of the matches that matter in the NA/EU/CN/KR cyclical comparisons) is that Alliance is probably the best team in the west. Yes they split with C9, but they played NJWS really well in the first game(gave up the lead/threw/whatever you want to call it), and then beat them. Even if NJWS is performing below expectation in those games, the eye test says that Alliance played better League when we take the relevant 4 games of the group stage for each(2 head to head, 2 vs NJWS).

I can understand leaving it up against, say Gogoing who is known for it but can play a whole bunch of stuff really well, but Wickd is a completely different beast on Irelia compared to Ryze, Kayle, Ali, Mao etc.

Ahh yes, makes sense now.
Really looking forward to today's games. Hoping c9 can pull off a miracle followed by several other miracles resulting in Alliance and c9 quarter final berths. What can I say, I'm a dreamer :p
