Things I noticed about CLG from the few times I've seen them. May be wrong, but I can't help but chime in since it really does feel like an end of an era.
1) If you're the main weapon on the team, you're not competing against the other less central members of your team, you should be compared to the central focus of your enemy teams. Doublelift is not a potent weapon at all, and hasn't been one for a long time. If this level of laning and team fighting is all Doublelift can manage, CLG will never be a top team unless they discover another point of focus.
2) Seraph simply does not have it in him to play a Looper-esque role. It's not his style, and quite frankly I don't know the logic in keeping him considering how terrible he is at his performing his role at the moment.
3) LiNk is useless out of the laning phase. I don't know why he bothers playing champions like Kog'Maw or Nidalee.
4) Teams cannot be all encompassing in their strategies and strengths, but should be potent as hell when they do play to their strenghts. I have trouble pointing out what CLG's strength is. Their bottom-lane? It's by default their strongest performers not because they are world-beaters, but because the rest of the team is doing so terrible. Come up with a better weapon, change the focus of your team, get better players, just do something.

HAHAHA, that "korean boot camp" will remain forever in Lol history (together with " we only prepared blue side strats"). CLG is the king of false hopes.

What the team lacks is a clutch player and a leader. If you go through the lineup there is nobody who stands out with his big mental strength.
Another big issue I feel is that they don't pick the correct players for the roles they want(personality/playstyle/mentality that is).Since it wasn't announced at any point(or at least I missed it) if clg didn't hire a psychologist to try to help the team they are just stupid.
Clg have always just randomly picked up good players and hoped it works out.The best clg has ever been was when saint was on the team.
Clg need somebody like reginald/hai in any role.

Pobelter is perfectly fine in EG if they find legit toplaner, they're going to crack top-3. CLG Ambition? Gosh, i will pay for it, the dream. And CLG ActScene. Sick. So, B tier Koreans? Haven't we gone through this enough with Quanitc, Helios, and Seraph?

ActScene is most underrated Korean jungler of all time and Ambition is still better than any Western mid, even in current shape. And Helios, lol. Helios is completely okay, considering that he never was considered as top-tier, even when Blaze were steamrolling everything last year Spring.
Won't be surprised if Seraph joins Falcons btw, after Rock's retirement.

It will be a crime if Procxin really is going to stuck in NLB or in teams with PLL. Being not Ruo is something already.

CLG_Reginald. The Dream. But seriously, S3 Regi would have been the best player on this team.

CLG is just fucking mess, they always been. I can't believe that team who lives with 2 managers/owner have so much problems. One player playing Hearthstone/CS:GO all the time in Worlds split, others ppl trashing their coach and talk how he doesn't do shit with other teams (This is not first that happend. I remember Kelby saying in interview that in last split some players were against Monte coming to house). Imagine this happening in Korea, if someone would shit talk coach would be fire next day. How Dexter/Link still have synergy problems after 2 splits together? How after last playoffs they didn't realize that team needs help with tilting in important games?
|
solomid is riding a high right now their victory vs Dig and clg's hard loss but if Xpecial & his CRS bros knock them out of Worlds qualification....that will be even more glorious than the current drama.

My abs have not yet recovered from yesterday's hilarity, not sure if I could take that.
It is a real possibility though, TSM looked the worst out of the 4 remaining teams during the last games.

CLG has never been a well-run organization, and it shows in their results.

I wonder if CLG will keep Monte for next season.

I don't think the roster is going to stick together even if they win vs dig anyway. Dexter back to europe, seraph back to korea, link back to school.
If Doublelift doesn't retire they will get a new roster for season5 and the hype train will crash right before worlds again.

It depends tho. We don't know if CLG just ignored everything he showed/taught them in Korea or if they actually followed the plan this weekend.

Oh man, this turned out even more disappointing than the previous two times CLG came back from Korea with huge hype behind them...
Ah I don't know anymore. Ever since Doublelift joined CLG and they stopped winning, they always choked. They've changed every possible thing ever imaginable since then, except for him. I wonder if his attitude ingame might really be damaging the team or what the fuck is going on, all I know is that ever since he joined they started choking whenever it mattered. I've always been the guy to say "correlation != causation" when it comes to this, but now even I'm wondering.
Could it be that the old incredibly toxic CLG attitude from the lineup of Double/Chauster/Saint/HSGG/Jiji just lives on because of the piece by piece substitution of players similar to this:
? Implying that it would even live on if hypothetically Doublelift left the team.
Or is Double himself really a core problem of CLG's choking, implying that substituting him could help the team?

Yeah I feel Aphro might adc next season and they can get bunny or someone similar for support.

I don't think this is the correct roster change, Aphro must stay on support due to how well he's been performing. If you change him to AD, you have no idea how he'll fit to the role compared to how he did in support. I'd say at this point, Aphro is probably the only player who should 100% stay on CLG. He's been noted as a positive influence, and his in-game play is generally stellar.
