I've heard of iceborn guantlet kassadin wrecking AD teams but full tank is relatively new to me. Then again triforce tanky bruiser with seraphs kassadin can win in Korea so maybe I should just accept that kassadin is love and life.

Don't let the ratios fool you, Kassadin's base damage are actually really good and if he can afford to stay in and spam W he hurts hard. Because they only have to build armour, and Lee and Pantheon are way worse than Renekton and Kassadin at dealing damage when building tanky, they outscale hard.
Also do I need to mention they have Braum and Lucian, when LMQ has Corki?

and the frozen heart actually is pretty good with the additional cdr and mana for the ult stacks
