fnatic probably just didn't want to stay, im sure they can afford like 5 days of hotel and food fees.

There really is no point. They can watch it via stream when they get home.

Eh. Just a cursory search of LA hotel costs atm are all over $100 a night. Fnatic will probably need 3 rooms, so that's at least $1500 for the five days, which is definitely not pocket change. This also doesn't include food and unless they're eating fast food every meal the cost of meals can definitely add up over five days.

They can probably afford it, but I'm not sure it's worth the cost.

ClearLove was good after S2 Worlds (when he had no pro experience, only amateur team experience), e.g. in IPL5 and in the WE domination of the 6 months afterwards.

However, China's metagame stuck to low warding and map control, which allowed ClearLove (a farming/ganking carry jungler to do well). Since the transition to the Korean-led metagame, it's been Lovelin leading the way in China (once he stopped feeding after his transition from support). Lucky and Illusion are just crap, with Lucky being very, very crap.

From the Asian scene I only really like iG, the CJ teams, and KT B. Have no dog in this fight. Guess I'm rooting for Royal just because I don't want the Western hype train for SKT T1 based off like 3 videos of Faker playing LB/Zed to actually go all the way to winning worlds.

EDIT: But honestly, SKT should have this. I'm not sure it's as obvious as people think, but I think they are favored. Top is probably a wash, mid can be a wash or a win for Faker depending on picks, and jungle is SKT favored. And I honestly think SKT has a better bot lane. Uzi is no better than Piglet and Mandu is probably the best support in the whole tournament.

The fuck lol Mandu is inconsistent as fuck and to say Uzi isn't better than Piglet is absurd, considering how Uzi has Piglet's performance without having a team to draw focus away from him lol

Your subtle nuances of enemy focus have no place here. KDA all the way! but serious, while Piglet has been good, Uzi has been incredible despite being the obvious point of attack for Royal's opponents (even if Yango thinks that's a trap).

not really absurd to say uzi and piglet are about the same.

not based on kda etc, but piglet is really good in team fights and even though he does not get focused, he makes the same decision of 'when to engage' as uzi does, and both go in after the calculated amount of cc and burst are already dumped. their teams soak up most of that, allowing them to clean up. this is just how adc is played, not really a unique uzi skill.

It's an oversimplification at the least. Teams facing SKT have prioritized shutting down Faker. That's been their plan. That free's up space for other lanes (piglet) to exert more pressure and remain safe. Conversely, Uzi is the point of attack for Royal and everyone knows it. That's not saying piglet is some no-talent scrub, but that Uzi is playing superbly despite having a serious additional obstacle to climb.

that's an argument for uzi being better, not uzi being ridiculously better. the goalpost wasn't the same. i would definitely agree that uzi has been tested more and he is relied upon for more of royal's success than piglet is. however, piglet has very rarely shown fail games either. so it's difficult to see what shortcomings he has that makes him noticeably worse.

Well, on the other hand piglet doesn't get as much attention because of faker legend status. His KDA was absurd in OGN summer but faker made the huge plays. I honestly believe piglet has the best reaction time out of any ADC and is behind nobody in terms of mechanics. Perhaps best mechanics out of any ADC considering he was a BW amateur back in the day. Uzi's decision making is incredible though.

Puszu lost Semis going 29/9/37, a KDA of 7.3. In contrast, Uzi went 23/17/28 with a KDA of 3.0. Imagine losing with a 16/5/16 score and being knocked out of Worlds.

Well, besides KDA if you watched OGN summer you saw how fucking godly piglet played those team fights. Literally in the middle and attacking the other adc or zoning out 2 people by himself. Add the KDA into this context and it's just ridiculous how good he played that season. Never saw anyone replicate the same thing since.

I've watched puszu play team fights. It's nothing special and his KDA should be expected out of a team that's winning with his playstyle. By no means does it mean he played the games exceptionally.

The thing about those 2 ADs is that their performances are based on their respective styles. Uzi is the star of the show, while Piglet plays second fiddle to Faker. Neither would probably be as good as the other is if their places were swapped.

Piglet/Faker is just the Pippen/Jordan, Shaq/Kobe, etc. argument. Faker is obviously the main star, but SKT were stopped in the semifinals of OGN Spring before Piglet became who he is now. Now that he's become a superstar (and Impact has been able to vary up his champion selection), SKT are unstoppable in Korea. While Faker would probably fare on a team without Piglet than if you shipped Piglet off to a team where he was the #1 guy, I think both players need each other to be the best in the world.
