 Just finally watched the quarterfinals (wow, I managed to avoid spoilers on all the matches!  )Great games :D the SKT games were a bit of a stomp, but I think every other game was great, tons of close ones! Seemed to be much better than most of the group games too ^^ edit: fnatic vs royal is going to be EPIC! | ||

Also, no 3rd place match, someone told me in the quarterfinal thread that they couldnt do it cuz they got limited time on the venue or whatnot, and i thought that was reasonable. Until i found out the finals is played a week after the semifinal -.- They could have put the 3rd place match on sunday, after the semis, they just chose not to, dunno why | ||

Venues are expensive. Very expensive. They didn't even sell out the Semis. How on earth would they sell out for a 3rd place match? They probably would hold a 3rd place match if there's a way to do it in a reasonable way and fit in somewhere appropriate. But the only way it would be worth it is to hold in their own small studio Riot used for the LCS. That would be a joke and and insult to the teams. A 3rd place match isn't even a necessity for the competition of the whole WC. tl;dr: Gain and cost of a 3rd place match aren't in balance. | ||
