Two things as public notice: 1. + Show Spoiler [Quarterfinals 1 spoiler] +Congrats to Fnatic, they played superbly and glgl to them in the Semis! No one is saying that Fnatic only won because of the level 1 in Game 3. Please keep the nationalistic statements out of our subforum. 2. Riot's Worlds format is atrocious. Let's not beat a dead horse here. I will certainly be talking to Riot's eSports dept about it in the near future. I simply ask everyone to be civil. Humble in victory, graceful in defeat. Enjoy the games~ -Neo, Sept 23rd, 3:20 PM PDT, page 120 |

After all they must have paid money to the team for things like this, right? Should be wearing the velcro jacket Krepo had on. all dem sponsor patches. Also, DL and Krepo are marketing geniuses. Get more eyes on sponsors than any other team without having to practice. CLG coming out on top. That's true, I'm sure his Ibuypower blog also gives them really nice traffic. I predicted in the very beginning that Doublelift would be the one NA player to boost his popularity the most during Worlds. DL has always been insanely popular. The DL story makes everyone have the feelz. So dlift owes his popularity to travis, travis better get his share of the dlift moonies. Everyone knows DL gives him the + Show Spoiler +Seriously though, Travis said he owes just as much to DL for getting him into the esports scene as an interviewer. Sotl was double lifts idea iirc You mean JP's idea. I've seen SotG for different games (like guildwars) years ago. With the exact same name too. It's not a new thing. Yeah I know.I mean the idea isn't exactly anything special lol.

either royal or swords will get first pick from whatever round the seeds play, bears will get last, and c9 somewhere in the middle.
so gambit will be taken first, then between omg and fnatic royal might pick omg for the personal revenge factor, thinking they need to prove themselves. then bears are stuck with t1 lol
It's not really meant for the final brackets. It's meant for Group Stages.

So, my thoughts for this side of the brackets: #AlexIch
All fnatic has to do to beat Royal is survive the early. Then there is literally no way to lose. No matter how accurate or ruthless Royal's aggression be, its after all fully anticipated and as the game moves on fnatic's strategic rotations will certainly be mud waters for them as of where to stand and what to do on the map.
Vs OMG however, it wont be easy at all, as this team posesses numerous original strategic concepts which they prefer to impose on enemy teams. I expect OMG to be able to handle well the progression to lategame, even though they didnt react well to the SKT T1 group mid push. Lessons be learned I guess.
I think that both chinse teams absolutely love(need?) to be proactive but in their respective match OMG might be all too happy to play the reactive role. OMG's also has the important groupstage warmup advantage.
I predict a relatively easy 2-0 for OMG, maybe 2-1 if blueside advanatage counts for chinese teams (doubtful).

So think of tonight's schedule as making sure China can see the OMG v Royal rematch with the winner queued up for a finals against SKT. + Show Spoiler +Yes Europe, Fnatic is a totally worthy semifinalist and could very reasonably make the finals too. They will be an underdog against either Chinese team imo. I don't think Chinese are interesting in watching the OMG vs Royal rematch either. There is only monte who is excited about it. Yango is totally pumped for more China He's a little downhearted about the whole rematch because of random draw thing. Why would a NA fanboy care about some Chinese rematch Yeah well this "rematch" matters a lot. The previous match didn't really. They also probably will play each other again for LPL play-offs (which haven't been played yet--Chinese Regionals weren't LPL playoffs). yea it was silly as hell lol WE LPL playoffs pls. i would watch china but its gonna be like 2 - 5am zzzzz Riot should re-rig quarterfinals so no CN vs CN

I think you're greatly under estimating Royal. Royal can fuck up sometimes and are not a late game team but they're a better team than OMG when they're on their game imoimo.
Like, Royal on point isn't going to let Fnatic get to late game. And if they do I don't think Fnatic's late game is necessarily stronger than Royal lol.

Royal has Uzi.
Puzuzuzuzuz and Yellowstar have been good, but Uzi might be the best ADC on the planet.

What really irked me about ozone was even when Dade is complete shit, imp was playing shit too, there's no reason why mata and imp couldn't of seriously put their entire team on their back and beat both Fnatic and Gambit. If you know your midlaner is going to suck balls, then build a fucking 4 protect 1 comp, and don't lose lane too badly. They pretty much could have played S2 CLG style, except Dade would be HSGG.

Imp played really well?... I don't know what you're saying. Mata was derping but Imp was still a god

Ryze gives plenty of utility! That W is sooooooo good for controlling the enemy team.

0 preparation, no leader to make the calls and the plans. Carryability potential based on skill is generally overrated and, in Dade's case, heaviness due to lack of it is overrated as well.

It should have been plainly obvious after the first 2 games they played that Dade is going to get abused, and if so, play something like malphite mid, or ori mid (against someone other than mineski), etc etc. Not like malphite is hard to play. It's something that could have been easily adaptable to a 4 protect 1 comp. An outdated style, but much better than forcing dade to play useless shit.
