Yeah it's so embarassing for Samsung's team to only reach Worlds and be 2-2 in the group stage as opposed to the mighty LG & JinAir teams playing with the elite in NLB instead.

At this point, I have severe doubts about Ozone qualifying out of the Group Stage, unless they pull together. 2-2 with Vulcun is not a good place to be at. Not impossible, but GG and Fnatic are leading the pack.

Probably the thing that worries me most as a Korean fanboy is that they've been behind in the early game in 5/6 games (only against Mineski did they have an early lead). For SKT, it's fairly reasonable considering the Lemondogs lvl 1 strat and Lovelin's crazy dive, but for Ozone, I think it's a bit more telling of weakness.

A lot of this has to do with their weak lane picks, but yeah they've played really poorly.

Yeah when you pick stuff like Jarvan Singed Vayne Ryze or Gragas you don't go in with the expectation of having early game control.

You could chalk it up to a lot of possible reasons (arrogance, trying to scout their opponents, stupidity, poor understanding of how to play this version), but regardless of which one it is, it shouldn't be surprising that the Korean teams have ended up on the back foot in their lanes given how they've drafted.

Watching the Vods atm. Gotta say Jatt has to carry so hard on the mic whenever Riv is there.

I like Jatt up there with DoA/Monte as my favorite english commentators by far.

Fair enough, it does make more sense thinking back on the bot lane matchups in retrospect. Although, I have to say that I hate gragas picks every time I see them, for some random internal reasons. He seems to be really poor when the team is behind.

Is it me or did Jatt get worse lately? Used to be my favorite color caster but now he makes quite a lot of mistakes, maybe Riv is rubbing off on him

Ozone plays really bad during 4 games, still go 2-2 and with plenty of chances to make it out of groups and they "embarrass themselves in front of a global audience" "won't make it out of groups for sure" "a waste of money from Samsung"

What's up with the sensationalism? Is this the credit you get from getting 3rd in the last OGN and winning the previous one?

Let me remind you, the 2 games they won, one was against mineski, and the other was vulcun throwing.

Thanks for reminding me! Now that justifies questioning his sponsors and calling them an embarrassment before they're even out the tournament

It definitely worrisome. If you spend that kind of money on a team, especially expecting the best in Korea, and what you end up getting is a team that's around as good as a #2-3 NA team? I mean sure, Vulcun is pretty good, but when you spending 500k + player income + expenses + etc, you want the world's best, not the world's average.

Did Ozone keep their coaches or did Samsung install a new regime?

The consensus in Korean pro scene is that Gragas is a pick you make when there's nothing to choose. He doesn't win any lane but he really doesn't lose any lane hard either.

I think it's that he has to cover Rivington's flat out wrong comments about things happening in the game, Jatt still gives useful insight into picks. I don't have a problem with Rivington pointing out things happening on the map(although I hate his voice), but when he gets into predicting the outcome of ganks or he starts describing game strategy for either team it makes me want to turn the stream off.
Also I never want to hear Rivington refer to Nasus and Renekton as the "bash brothers" ever again, it makes me cringe.

I believe banbaji, GSG coach who went to mvp when they acquried the blue team, went to Samsung with the team , so I don't think its a matter of coaching. It's just nerves/new envirnment and foreign teams putting up a fight causing them to crack under all the pressure.

He's also a pick that's very resilient when you expect multiple lane swaps, since you can swap him into pretty much any lane and expect him to do OK, which makes it easier for you to get good matchups for your other 2 lanes.

Tbh, I attribute a lot of Ozone's weakness to jet lag, first international exposure, etc. I don't think there's anyone who can say that the main cast is just playing much worse than anything we've seen from them.
