But you also gotta consider the team needs Zac isn't that strong in 10.9a. He's still good, but he's not anywhere close to being OP or first pick/ban every game.

One small community, "esports" is still holding out against reason and logic. And life is not easy for the participants who play in LCS, world championships.... There are plenty of tournaments and sports events which don't use this format. Most of the ones that do are weekly, bi-weekly events (tennis, etc) which is not a big deal for players since you just go play the next one. The World Cup (one of the most watch sporting events) is not single elim... No one wants their country to go to the World Cup and only play 1 game.

In fighting games double elimination format in my opinion works really well because the matches take a really short amount of time so you can have a ton of action. I don't think that it's a good idea for games like LoL and DotA because it takes such a long time, especially because all the tournaments do the format incorrectly so we have some horrible abominations like the TI3 bracket. I also wonder when Dyrus becomes frustrated enough to leave TSM. He and Xpecial are the only reason the team is even top 4. "But it's the #2 team" is a bad excuse because Dyrus is pretty much the reason they are #2 and he could carry almost any other team to #2 as well so it's a nonfactor.

Until Regi gets so upset that he's willing to retired again + there being a mid he feels is good enough to replace him. Are there any good freeagent/Challenger mids out there?

Yes, most tournaments do have groups and then playoffs. This allows teams to at least play multiple matches even if they lose them all. I think the reason for Riot's format is that they want to give the #1 seeds from the various regions a BYE (although it doesn't work out because they have 5 'big' regions so 1 of the #1 seeds (EU) still has to go into group play).

Edit, just to clarify, this is just my "thinking from traditional sports (like Soccer)" thought process. You would never see the #1 and #2 teams from Africa or NA in the same group at the world cup, even though those regions objectively suck. Yeah it would be kinda weird to seed like this, but it looks like the only logical way to do it to me. Every other distribution is either arbitrary, since Riot would be forced to evaluate the relative strengths or all regions without proper material, or random and would hence probably produce uneven/unfair groups.

I feel that WildTurtle doesn't have the mechanics to play Vayne and should have stuck with Caitlyn. Also I really don't understand a Karthus in top lane for Dyrus.

Not for Rekkles himself, I'm with Fnatic on this one, better keep the guy they played with for a good part of the season + they won LCS EU with (for Worlds of course, after that, they can name Puszu as a sub without worries), but still, I would have prefered the same conditions for all the players.

And here comes the internal issues that will prevent TSM from getting better at all; just by stating the dire facts about the finals - complete fail at drafting, including bans; Regi making bad calls and proving he's a 2-3 trick pony, fails with anything else, not to mention his fallback champions are nowhere near world class either; Xpecial played rather horribly, though it seems like a running joke in NA to perform the most useless crescendos you can; WT was complete shit in the first game, in the second one he got snowballed, yet he couldn't do anything, and at the end of the 3rd game he just went "so troll" mode, which might've been funny for him, but before his stunt, TSM had a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slim chance to get back into that game and then eventually have another shot to get 25,000$ more and a bye at worlds. Chaox didn't give a shit about the games, was fired almost immidietly, now here we go again. I don't know what to say about TOO, he was read like a book, and a jungler is pretty much fucked if his entire team (except Dyrus) fails, though it was funny how he was at the wrong place at the wrong time all game long, while Meteos and co were doing the money dives. Now imagine a TSM meeting with all these stuff, plus the personal indifferences, which is Regi vs the world. And we can bash WT all we want, that clip from game 2 just showed how pathetic TSM's communication is, if it exists at all. Both TOO and Xpecial failing super hard, and all they left for WT is to die instantly - WT either turned back, seeing how retarded his teammates are, then get shit on (by us as well) for not helping them, or try his best doing some damage (sidestepping Zyra ult and stuff), but helplessly fail in the 1v3, for which he get shit on yet again. I don't think anyone who can think rationally thought TSM had even the slightest chance to win this, which is fine, they were beaten 0-4 before by C9 (and not like vs CLG, where the games were usually close), so losing it 0-3 was somewhat expectable, but at the last two games they couldn't even hold it together as a team. They were mediocore at best in the first game, and fans could live in the delusional thoughts like "omg, we were quite close early game", but even VES beat them early game, so it doesn'T mean a single thing. If anything, beating or being on pair with C9 early is a must from any decent team.

And to have a dmg utility for "reginalds" mid/teamfight plays. And you cant miss a ulti when your playing karthus (what he was accused of in the season on his Shen play) , but his overall Q mechanics on Karthus lost him 2 kills.
