I have nothing against them but they shouldn't even be here. Unlike Pain, iM & Lyon, these guys have the opportunity to join LCS and tried to but they couldn't get past the pre-qualifiers.
It would be unfair towards the regions without a pro league, unfair towards the 4th-8th LCS EU teams, unfair towards all the EU challenger teams that are better than them and beat them.
Hell, Gambit is techincally from the same 'new region' and could potentially finish 4th-6th and not go to Worlds while GG.eu have such an easier road based on a technicality. And sending the 15th-20th best EU team to Worlds doesn't exactly add any flavor to it.
Same things apply to Dark Passage. So I'm rooting for Pain I guess. So you are saying the CIS region should not exist? Dont you think that is a little harsh? Btw these regions depend on Riot servers regions, not on geography or politics or whatever. So if there is a Turkish or Russian server, there also is an opportunity for teams from there to qualify through their server regions. Not at all, I'm saying teams from CIS/Turkey should either be allowed to try their luck in LCS or in the Wildcard but not in both. It makes no sense whatsoever, this is like allowing SEA teams to play in the Taiwan qualifier for Worlds and then have their own qualifier as well but without Taiwanese teams. Yeah I guess you are right. Once you participate in the qualifer of one region you should not be able to participate in another. Teams have to be told in advance then though. Btw did DP partcipate in a EU LCS qualifier? They did but didn't make it to the promotion/relegation. To make it a bit clearer - CIS & Turkey are just 2 more EU servers like EUW & EUNE. They have the exact same opportunities as the older servers and this is basically a handout. Hypothetically, you could have a really good team from Turkey that makes it to LCS and finishes let's say 5th and then a weaker team from Turkey that wins the Wildcard and gets to Worlds while the better one doesn't. It's a weird setup and Gambit & GG.eu have realistic chances of being in this exact situation. This sounds though as if you generally have a problem with a spot going to these regions, not only with teams trying to qualify for both. I dont agree with that notion at all. Remember spots for worlds dont depend on level of competetive teams, but on server population, so that the respective servers have adequate representation at worlds. Otherwise you might as well argue 3 spots for NA or EU are a "handout". And I think 1/4 of a worlds spot is totally appropriate for the size of the Turkish or Russian server. I don't know why you understood it that way. My problem is that having 2 possible paths to Worlds as opposed to every other region in the world where there is only 1 is unfair AND that teams from this regions that perform worse (AKA cannot get into LCS) have an easier path than the better teams from the very same regions (CIS & Turkey) that do get into LCS. A qualifier should never give an advantage for performing worse. I'm not talking about how good these teams are compared to other regions, I'm talking about the way this works withing the regions themselves. I don't know what's so hard to understand? The example is simple: Gambit & GG.eu are both CIS teams. Gambit has to finish top 3 in LCS EU to go to worlds. GG.eu lost to some random teams (Imperium? I think) in LCS prequalifiers and yet they have to beat weaker teams to go to worlds. Why promote mediocrity? This has nothing to do with server, language or diversity since they both technically belong to that server. Although neither actually play on that server in general. Why I understood it that way? Because you said "To make it a bit clearer - CIS & Turkey are just 2 more EU servers like EUW & EUNE". That kinda sounds like they should not have seperate spots. Before that post I already agreed to your point that a team should only be allowed to participate in one of the qualifiers. What are we even discussing about then? :D I get where our opinions started diverging. You're saying it's about server representation which is true but in reality the server doesn't matter in EU. All these teams hop servers whenever it suits them, you'll have GG.eu on EUW playing the challenger series, then hop to EUNE to play in the Ranked 5s LCS qualifier, then hop to CIS to win the regionals there because their nationality makes them eligible, then hop wherever the hell the next tournament that they can play in is.
And I don't blame them, anyone would do the same and use these opportunities. But this makes me see them as just another EU team rather than a CIS team or a TR team.

I'm looking at these comps, and I can't see any world in which Pained wins this game. Kha'Zix and Zac going to eat Pain's backline alive, and Nami not going to let Wu anywhere near Cait.
Nocturne's going to have to have some extreme presence in the early game, or DP's going to just run all over them after the 30 minute mark.
|
You underestimate the dp bot lane.If they lose hard ez can easily handle zac/kha.
|
Noted. I didn't get to watch the first two games, my connection is crap and I had to turn off the stream to download the new client. I turned it back on in time to see Kha'Zix Pentakill. O.o
That was a bad nami bubble....but it's Blue Ez. I wouldn't be so worried about that, as long as bot doesn't throw hard I think it'll be fine. Just let Kha'Zix and Zac keep eating the monkey alive while Cait and Karthus farm to end game and it's gg.

Sad to see Wukong lose.
I wish his laning would be buffed a little.

"As long as bot doesn't throw" -- ArcticFox, 2 posts ago.
Nami immediately runs blind into a bush and gets jumped on.
|
On a side note -- is Nami still good? It feels like since they "fixed" her Q that she's been underwhelming, plus the more she gets played, the better people are getting at dodging the Qs, and she's not having as much impact as she used to.
|
She is good but in lane she is kind of like janna at least early levels.Your ad needs to do most of the work unless the opponents are bad at dodging q.She is still top 3 support with thresh/sona.
|
Karthus free farmed for too long, doesn't look good for Pain. Edit: except if he stops to ult in the middle of the lane i guess, that was derpy
Btw, shouldn't the higher seed team get blue side in 1st and 3rd game?
|
Karthus ulted when he didnt even need to, got killed in the process and DP lost 2 turrets. Kind of turned the game.
Karthus ult is more difficult than people believe.

This cait seems terrible in teamfights

Just realised that Spectre's Cowl is also blue.
Edit: Baron steals are soon more common than regular Barons.

Wow, this cait... Constantly getting caught and still not able to shoot at the enemies

And they threw .

DP is putting up a strong fight.
