China has IG and WE who are both very good but outside of that its pretty rough. TPA is great but the other TW teams are nowhere near them. M5 and (maybe) CLG.EU are good but the rest of EU is pretty far behind. For Korea, you have Najin Shield + Sword and Azubu Frost + Blaze all four of which are considered top tier. Then there are a lot of other teams that are close.. LGIM has potential but has underperformed lately. their roster is still good enough to make it though KT A has looked great recently beating Frost IEM quali and reaching the finals for ETD. they are kind of unknown but early results say they might be top tier Xenics is still around and people expect them to be better with Cornsalad taking over mid Even a team like MVP white would be competitive with the top NA/EU teams and they are probably something like the 8-9th best team in Korea. The amount of top teams is a direct product of the amount of capable sponsors and organizers, where capable = being able to provide a team house, salary, coach, travel money, and training regimen. Between Kespa and ESF there are literally a dozen capable sponsors in Korea, each sponsoring up to two teams. Obviously a region is going to pull ahead when it is able to support 10-20 teams with equal / better conditions than the top 2-3 teams in every other region. | ||
