Today's games just feel like they were decided by about the 10-15 minute mark. At this level, especially for these disciplined Korean teams, it's really rare to see a throw.
Like right now, 9k lead at 25 mins. TSM vs. CLG.EU, I would be thinking CLG could possibly turtle and hope for a good engage. This game? I'm more or less waiting for Blaze to die a slow, painful death.
I think that's why I'm feeling bored compared to yesterday.

Stinger is so good on Jax. CDR and AS lets you get more ult procs and more W resets. Nashor's gives you max CDR with masteries.

There's only been one foreign winner of an MLG ever since the Koreans arrived (HuK) and one other Finals with a Foreigner (Naniwa). Ever since 2012, no foreigner has made it to the Finals at all.
Yes, completely agree. I didnt play sc2 at all besides campaign and customs but I really enjoyed all the tournaments since beta. Since all these koreans popped up it just stopped being interesting because of the lack of connection with the players. Not that I am discriminating, it's just that they don't speak english and so it's harder for me to understand them and like their personality. The same holds true for football, I can't quite like some foreign players and teams (mostly eastern europeans and russians) although I believe they play phenomenally.
The fact that LoL is so much funier to play than it is to watch is due to the game being more fun to play than sc2 imo :p

Nashors!!! Quick update on finals? What's the score tally?

This is really stupid. CLGna and TSM are primarily Asian, not white, yet they're the most popular teams in NA.
And Asians aren't inherently better at video games lol. They have set practice regimes that they take more seriously than westerners. It just so happens that in games like StarCraft, DotA, and League hardcore practice regimes like this are incredibly important.
It has nothing to do with race.

SC2 Tournaments, for me, were initially really disappointing because players like Fruitdealer just dissipated after winning GSL. Honestly, the SC2 problem, in that the "best" players don't don't consistently make the finals, or the "best" players are changing too quickly. Except MVP, he's awesome.

Because the vast majority of players do not play or understand the game at a level where they can understand, appreciate, or get excited for high level play. In pretty much every game, the top level of play is extremely nuanced and much of the enjoyment from watching it requires a high-level understanding of the game.
People want to watch an EXCITING game--this does not always equate to high level play (though as a designer, one should be cognizant of trying to make high-level play exciting to watch). Having a team you're emotionally invested in contributes more to making a game exciting than having a good team in it, especially when your understanding of the game isn't at a level where you can fully appreciate the very top level of play anyway.
tl;dr - better teams doesn't inherently contribute to a game being more exciting for the average viewer; being emotionally invested in one of the teams does

They're still American teams by nature of having personalities exposed to us as NA viewers. It's about the level of emotional investment.

It just doesn't make sense. Watching tournaments and streams is about entertainment rather than education for the most part. That means you want to have an emotional connection to the media at hand for maximum impact (just like how you want to connect with the characters of a book or movie). Feeling the highs as your team wins, or the sad swings when they lose; it makes the experience more intense.

Well, I don't mind two korean teams in the finals. I just like seeing high level play.
That being said, this game needs to end! We all know this one is over lets move on haha.

But you implied that it was "hard for white people" to accept that they're not the best at something. Yet two teams that are very much not white people are the most popular teams.
The reason why Koreans and Chinese teams aren't as popular isn't about race. It's primarily about the fact that Europeans are gonna root for teams that are from where they're from. North Americans are gonna root for teams that are from where they're from. Combine the fact that we don't share a common language with Koreans and Chinese teams and you have your answer.
As for actual skill, race does not determine ones skill at something. That's some borderline eugenics shit.
