on paper it works out great
as is multiplicative with proc rate of phage, as well as flat on-hits from wits end, ionicspark and hiten style
faster as also gives quicker build-up of MR bonus from wits
wits+spark also gives a nice balance of MR and HP, further accentuated by quick life-gain from faster hiten style hits.
also gives really solid mix of physical, magic and true damage.
so it's tanky, slows a lot, and does nice balanced damage.
specific to their teamcomp, they wanted wits ionic for the magic damage. corki as the ad (ezreal would probably have worked okay too) means they have Pbombs, rockets and passive for magic/true damage balance. cho in the jungle and sona support helps with that too.

If it is still a serious thing, I think Salce would be a good pickup. Let him return to mid. The move back to SF also lead me to believe the Regi retire was still real.

They all planned to try different and more agressive stuff after season 3. For the s2 finals too much was at stake to change anything up. This tournemant is the beginning of their training phase for season 3, which is why they are trying out stuff.

I thought it turned when TSM's bot lane got CRUSHED by like 20 cs for no reason that I could discern. Before the dragon fight (when CLG took their 4-0 lead), it was reasonably close top and mid, but for some reason, TSM's bot lane was getting outplayed hard. It's not like there was a ton of jungle pressure or anything. I should think Leona/Ez could lane vs. Corki/Sona on at least an even field. And you could see the difference when the fight started and Leona died with Corki/Sona escaping with 100hp each. If they die there, it's a 2 for 1 and TSM's ahead a bit.

I doubt it will, but I really hope this makes TSM finally wake up and start practicing for real. If they stream their scrims they will probably make just as much by doing soloQ all the time, and then they would actually be able to pull off some of their non-standard comps like Zil/Rengar.

This patch had a huge Rengar nerf. Just the smaller nerf (q scaling) is not in yet.
