I would assume they just play the rest out normally. They both had super tense series to get here. Let off some steam for a game and then go back to the rest of the Bo5 as normal.

That said if they go the entire Bo5 as a joke ill be super suprised and lose some respect for both sides.

Whats all this "it's just a video game crap?" This is a joke and both teams absolutely need to be disqualified from the tournament without prize at the least.

There are a million things you can do to keep a spirit of competition despite the result not mattering. Instead these guys have chosen to just fuck over Sundance and the rest of MLG.

EDIT: ok if they only do one game rather than the whole series then MAYBE they can be let off....

Guys it's a video game. I know on this site we want esports to be like real sports but it just won't happen. People play video games to have fun. They're obviously enjoying themselves, just let them be. It's like FBH troll dancing on stage. It's not professional but it's really fucking funny.

These people practice and play the game for a living. It is the definition of "professional".

Allowing this is incredibly "unprofessional".

Yeah professional video games.

1 game ARAM I find entertaining actually lol. If the whole Bo5 is ARAM I dunno if it will remain that way throughout a prolonged series.

Given MLG's past responses to obvious splitting, I'll be curious to see if they come down hard on dig/crs.

What if they don't split haha. It's like 8k more for 1st place? That's 1.6k for each player + tax and sponsor fees and whatever else they have to pay. I don't think it's THAT big of a deal for them I don't know.

What.... it's obviously a split, you think they'd troll instead of playing serious when there's an easy 1.6k?

Well considering they could get banned from MLG for splitting that's why I'm saying maybe it isn't a split. They aren't that stupid I'd hope.

What I don't think you understand is that they don't like splitting BECAUSE it makes the tournament into a joke with troll games. It doesn't matter if they're splitting or not, they're making the tournament into a joke right now.

Like some1 else mentioned, in magic they split but play seriously for a small difference and that's accepted because it doesn't turn the tournament into a joke.

I think one game is ok. I will leave if the second game is still ARAM.

same for me, i'm thoroughly enjoying this aram game, but I don't think i want to see a second one. The crowd also seems to be enjoying it as well, so I'm quite ok with this.

edit: i think it's the equivalent of pro teams sending out second/third string players for games that are either basically done or are more/less meaningless.

I don't understand why everybody is so offuscated. Even in real sports, you «troll» when the result in the game you're playing has no outcome on your league standings.

The only thing they play for is money, and if you remove that there's not much left :/ MLG doesn't really have any prestige unfortunately.

In pro Magic: the Gathering prize splitting is perfectly normal. Traditionally though you leave a little something left over for the cameras in major events. Like play for 1/10th of the money and split the rest, or even split the money and just play for a trophy.

You NEVER turn the pro scene into a joke like this.

That's kind of my surprise. If they want to fuck around and not reveal strats, just say like: "let's play the most standard game as possible. No lane swap, play standard champs we all know, and play normal lane assignments." The games might still be decent and it's not like they'd be giving up anything.

Seriously this is fun. The crowd is enjoying it, I'm enjoying it, the players are having fun. Is there anyway we can keep the torches and pitchforks in their cases this time?

In reality though it doesn't make sense for Curse or Dig to pull out their best stuff with championships and those huge prizepools looming in the near future for what is a very minor tournament. Hence why TSM straight up skipped this tourney.

Naniwa probe-rushing was in a match whose outcome would have no meaning or change anything whatsoever.
FBH dancing like a madman after a win is a celebration of hard fought victory.

This is dicking around (and possibly splitting) on the finals of a major tournament.

no proving grounds mana refresh buff.

but for real, I'm suprised people are defending this, aside from the fact that aram is super boring, it's pretty silly. I'm not trying to say they should be banned for life or anything dumb like that but I just feel like it's pretty uncool of them to come to the event if they aren't willing to play out the finals, they actually make Reginald look mature for pulling his team.l

Such a troll game, lol. They're not even trying to end the game either.

Can't say it's not entertaining though.

edit: wtf Cop just went into fountain to heal? Thought you couldn't do that in ARAM lol.

Yeah this is really fun. People on this site don't like fun. Everything has to be super serious and professional. I blame Marcou for that stupid circuit point thing.

just want to point out that regardless of who's "entertained" they probably have like twice as many fucking viewers as they would have if they had a normal finals.
