He didn't seem to do anything in this match.
Ryze is legit. Just incredibly underplayed. Don't ask me how but that last buff to Ryze's Q (was "small" too, something like +10 dmg) totally made him good again.
This is coming from players like Loci and Chauster. They've said that Ryze is a solid AP champ at tournament level.

Probably not on that 22 minute game.
They used it twice. Probably saved a good 20 to 30 minutes between both games. Teams drag these things out. It hard to assault double towers without an ace.

There was a bug with those and Ghost (I don't know the details about the bug just that MLG deemed it bad enough to have a ban)
