So, imagine i have an account with no AD's and no supports, and i want to learn both bottom lane roles with currently considered good/OP champions. Which champions do i need? RP/IP isn't a restriction.

Support:

Absolutely needed: Thresh, Morgana, probably Braum (hard to say at this point since we don't know how much fixing he will get)
Highly recommended: Leona
Stuff you should also think about: Lulu, Sona, Soraka, Karma
Some other stuff is also used, mostly APs which sometimes work like Annie, Vel, Syndra, but those are the main supports.

ADC:
Tier 1: Twitch, Lucian
Secondary: Ez, Corki?, Graves, Sivir, Jinx, Cait (could be Tier 1)
Pretty irrelevant: Anything else

Supports: Morgana, Thresh, Braum(maybe, he is banned so often might not be worth it), Lulu, Leona

You only really need Morg, Thresh, and Lulu to be set for most situations. Morg provides peel and counter engage while being strong against hard initiation champions. Lulu provides defense against assassins as well as strong poke against champions like Morg who are weak against it. Thresh provides the initiation/utility in needed in order to beat a strong poke champion like Lulu. He also has amazing peel for immobile AD's.

Other options are Nami, and Karma. Karma dumps on Morgana and Nami dumps on any immobile ADC's so long as she doesn't get hooked.

AD's: Miss Fortune, Twitch, Lucian, Cait. Cait is safe and wins lane, you pick her when you need to have a dominating early game advantage (and you have to make use of it). Note that she loses lane hard to Draven and Varus to a lesser extent. Miss Fortune is the Queen of damage with a lot of pick potential and good non-team fight mobility. Lucian is safe in all aspects with strong laning. I am bad with him but it should be pretty obvious why he is strong. Twitch is more of an assassin than an ADC. He has good laning and can carry hard in lategame team fights with his ult. His primary advantage is his stealth initiations though, so use those in the mid game to get ahead and surprise enemies during laning phase.

Other options are Tristana, Jinx, and Kog-Maw. Who all have amazing lategame carry potential and conditionally strong laning phases.

Frankly i think that the support position has, at the moment, the best set of viable champions with a long list of available counter picks and synergistic lanes so its hard to pick a "big three". Almost every traditional support will work against some support/ad combination and most AD's have a position where they work, even Ashe. With the exception of Sona, she is terrible, never pick her(pick Annie instead).

Thanks guys! I already have pretty much every support you've mentioned except Leona, so i think i'll be fine.
I don't have any of the AD's Goumindong mentioned though, i'm pretty much only playing Graves at this point in time.
So in which order should i buy Twitch, Lucian, MF and Cait? I could also get some sweet RP and buy these, but i don't like buying champs with RP when they aren't on sale, and i definitely don't want to buy 3150 IP champs with RP.

Oh yeah, and one more question: which rune pages do i need for AD and support?

Pretty much what he said. Top supports right now are definitely thresh, morgana, leona and karma. If Braum doesn't get changed, then he's easily one of the best supports.

ADC:
Tier 1: Twitch, Lucian

In my opinion...
T1: Twitch, Lucian, Corki, Cait
T2: Trist, Kog, Vayne,
T3: Varus, Ashe, MF
T4: Ezreal

Justifications: Twitch does big dps and forces other team to play a certain way, can pretty much 1v1 any AD given the same gold once he has Bork.
Lucian/Corki: More or less simple mechanics/high dps/some resemblance of waveclear
Cait: 650.
Trist/Kog/Vayne: 3 Hardest hyper carries. 6 item on any of these will dump 6 items on any other (in this order as well). However... how good they are up to that point... I mean, if you'r eplayng against Ezreal you can get away with any of these. Vayne has the earliest power spike but I think Kog/Trist have higher damage potential late game.
Varus, Ashe, MF: Our ults do werk. But that's about it.
Ezreal: This guy just sucks.
With Draven being... somewhere there. Perhaps a perfectly played Draven may be T1 but let's be real... the margin for error on Draven is way way way too small.

As for what to buy...
Cait/Lucian are never banned so having those two first would probalby be good (and they're both very easy). Twitch is occassionaly banned (rightfully so, but he really isn't that easy to play).

Edit:
Runes for support:
Can be greedy and go gold quints, armor marks, armor/health seals, mr glyphys
"Standard" ap page on annie/zyra
Otherwise, combinations of health, armor, mr, and possibly damage can't go wrong

Runes for AD:
For Cait, Luci, and Corki, I recommend something like this.
For everyone else, (and I guess you can do this with those guys as well if you just want a single rune page. Heck, that page can work for every adc as well): Marks: flat damage
Glyphs: MR is safe, I'm greedy and too confident in my own ability to stay safe so I take flat attack speed
Seals: Flat armor or flat health
Quints: If you take Flat armor seals, take 1 flat armor quint and 2 flat damage. Otherwise, just 3 flat damage.

For support:

There are generally two pages

1) Flat Armor Quints, Scaling MR Glyphs. (flat is OK but scaling is better imo)

With

a) Hybrid Pen Reds(Morgana/Lulu/Leona), AD reds(Thresh, any ranged champion if you feel like you're going to get a lot of AA harass in compared to your spells), and flat MR Reds(defensive against a heavy magic team) depending on the champion/combination.

b) Scaling Armor Yellows(lategame) or Flat HP Yellows(Early Game+Leona)

2) Standard AP Page with flat Armor Yellows.

You can run page 1 on anyone. In the lategame config you're going to have a an extra 47 armor and 29 Mr from your runes and masteries, which is a big boost considering the standard support items all have health on them and fewer have large amounts of armor. Because you're support and you're expected to be the first to take damage in the lane this will still give you a decent amount of laning power compared to an AP/Offensive page.

You can run page 2 whenever you're going to be more or less free to harass and won't be punished hard for it. This maximizes your harass which can shove the enemy out of lane very early if they're not ready for the trades.

If you're only gonna pick up one ADC, get Caitlyn. She's the most well-rounded while still crushing some matchups and being safe against basically everything.

So I haven't played this game since December and I missed a whole lot of things like the rune changes and various "meta" shifts. The shifts in champion picks I can figure out on my own just by playing solo-queue and watching some progames, but I'm a bit lost when it comes to runes now, especially when it comes to ADC. How are people runing for ADCs now? On a first glance it seems like they're the ones that were most affected.

It really depends on what you are looking to get done in the early game. Lifesteal, AD, and armor are still pretty common. Some adcs can use some amount of mana regen since they are still one of the most mana limited positions. I'm currently running:

LS Quints
AD Reds
Armor Yellows
Mp5 Blues

But I mostly play Kog'Maw when I adc, and that isn't very often. YMMV. I would just look up Dlift's rune pages in game and copy them wholesale.

Most players have switched to Attack Speed Quints instead of Lifesteal Quints but everything else is basically the same.

So do you still go spirit of the golem on warwick, or wriggles?

I want to ask this as well, because FF allows warwick ult to do more damage but I've recently found that quill coat is really good for warwick because he clears camps so slow, quill coat helps him clear jungle camps faster

Also, on tristana, under what cases do you go for bloodthirster over botrk, or phantom dancer over statik shivv? I've always used botrk and PD but I noticed recently a lot of tristana players going BT and shivv

There's no way that quill coat will clear faster than madred's on Warwick. Let's say you're doing the wraith camp 10 minutes into the game. The quill coat passive will do 21.5 damage over 3 seconds to the small wraiths and 69.5 damage over 3 seconds to the big wraith. So over 3 seconds, it's doing a total of 134 damage. You'll get in ~4 autos during those 3 seconds, so madred's will 200 damage. Wriggles vs SotAG is just no contest.

I wish I had someone to ask so I could just test this myself, but if you put a caitlyn trap in the middle of panth ult circle can you stop him from stunning you?

Possibly, now that they have changed his ult to not let you cast stun while falling.

Can anyone give me a quick run down of what runes are being used in each lane. I got several rune sets, but I stopped playing for some months, and I don't want to test and fine tune a lot since I have little time to play.

Thanks!

Top lane CDR blues are probably the only thing you don't have. Good for most tops (Renek, Ryze, Nasus etc). Mid not much has changed. For the jungle, attack speed reds aren't as favoured any more as they removed the on-hit from machete. ADC usually runs attack speed quints now and some people run a split of armour/hp yellows. Support is the same really.

Thanks. I got CDR scaling blues (they used to be good on Season 1...) or where you talking about flat CDR?

Flat CDR is almost always going to be better. I think some people get scaling CDR on mid laners so they can hit max CDR with just athene's, but that's it.
