LotV closed beta announced to start on March 31 - Page 96
Forum Index > Legacy of the Void |
Thanks to Reddit sleuths, everyone can try the LotV test maps by following instructions here. Note: This is not a beta key, it is simply access to Vs. AI and a Unit Tester. I have no idea how cool with this Blizzard is or is not, use at your own risk.

I think invites are pretty random except for certain people on lists like streamers/pro players/community figures. Everyone else is either lucky or not. Question is if Blizzard will sell access like they did for WoW MoP and Heroes.

MOP beta is a side product of the annual pass which isn't really the norm, they didn't do that for WoD, while in the case of Heroes "Founder Pack" is a common practice in F2P games these days.

- While the original WOL release gave me the impression that Blizzard were really seriously interested in feedback and data, HOTS, the other HOTS and even Hearthstone betas have shown a change of direction in my eyes. Instead of gathering response, finding/fixing bugs and so on, these betas have used and abused the general player base for a PR hype campaign. - Unless they change their strategy in this regard, I highly doubt that a significant amount of 'normal' people will get into this first wave of the beta. I expect it to go to a number of pros and then definitely all the 'celebrities': Day9, TB and so on. The idea is to generate hype and longing for the game and the best way to do that is to keep the number of beta keys that go to 'regular' people as low as possible. - Note that this is not 'illegal', it's absolutely within Blizzard's right to do this, other companies do it as well. It's absolutely okay, nobody is entitled to anything. Thankfully I'm not as hyped for the game as I was with HOTS (the SC one), back when SC was the only game for me that I'd play.

Peew and I thought I am the only one who is not hyped for this "beta" (better call it pre sale hype phase I ) and is tired of Blizz new Beta style which means giving Keys to "important people" while creating as much hype as possible amongst the real customers till they dribble.

Excuse my lack of English grammar, but is it legal to attach the definite article to a name of a planet? I know we say the Earth, but never the Mars, so I am confused.
