After unsuccessful World Championship campaign, NA LCS champions Counter Logic Gaming announced that Eugene 'Pobelter' Park is going to leave the team while substitute Jae-hyun "Huhi" Choi will become a starting midlaner for NA LCS 2016 Spring Split.
It was not an easy decision to make. Eugene "Pobelter" Park has accomplished more than CLG could have hoped for during his time as a starter these past months. His efforts and talent were key in what culminated to be CLG's first LCS championship victory. Although he will no longer be CLG's starting mid laner, the team believes that he is an exceptionally talented and consistent player. CLG will be actively looking to provide Pobelter with the best possible opportunities moving into the next LCS season.

Uh...
I mean Pobelter ain't Bjergsen, but he ain't bad either. Huhi was a pretty good challenger midlaner I suppose, but he's never been on the LCS stage.

Oh man they kept link for so long while consistently choking, now they drop POB after they win LCS? Huhi must be really fucking good or something happened behind the scenes we don't know.
I hope POB doesn't end up in ELO hell like winterfox again.

I think Pobelter was never that great on CLG. I mean yes, he is better than Link and does not derp around (and choke), but beyond that he is just mediocre.
That being said, I am not convinced that Huhi is actually that much better.

Here is a speculation.
CLG sold Peb to Immortal/TIP/whatever for some quick bucks knowing that huhi in practice is at least as good as pob is. With the new money, CLG gets a better jungler.
Anyway, I don't think pob -> huhi must be a downgrade. I think the complaints here are mostly due to pob's better fame and the sparcity of data on huhi.

CLG needs a couple of star players to build around. People they can count on to perform so the rest of the team can revolve around their play.
They probably aren't dropping Doublelift ever so if they're sticking with Huhi that leave Top/Jungle.

Such a random change when Pobelter looked solid on the roster lol

They replaced the one person they probably should have kept???

I actually thought this was a joke from the GP thing on reddit, but it's actually real, what the literal fuck?

probably not clg's decision tbh

Pobelter wasn't great but he wasn't bad either. They have way bigger weak links on the team. I'm guessing someone offered them a rather large amount of money and they decided Huhi was at least a sidegrade so the money was worth it.

already too much assuming in this thread.
"not an easy decision to make"
that means clg chose huhi over pobe. you guys really think clg management is stuck in elo hell and doesn't realize the decisions they're making?
in huhi i trust.
anyways pobe wasnt the reason clg succeeded. coach chris will prove that its the coaching staff, not the players that bring wins.

in huhi i trust. No, CLGs management isn't stuck in elo hell. They are the cause of it.

I mean sure if you ignore the 2+ years of CLG mismanagement you can say such things.

and if you ignore their current success you have the same counter argument.
