I dunno, I agree its reasonable that they jack up the prices in other currencies when they are worth less, but they aren't doing the customer or themselves any service by then being the one that changes the currency. It leads to people being grumpy and no one really benefits. But if they change the amount of RP per CAD, they need to have safeguards to make sure they aren't suddenly gouging their costumers unfairly, and they need to spend time and resources that are already limited.
I think everyone is just better off purchasing in USD, personally. It's actually less confusing and more fair to purchase sobering in USD and have the conversion rate fluctuate based upon your bank then to have riot arbitrarily decide when there needs to be currency based pricing adjustments.
Frankly, I don't expect the currency based adjustments to be timely at all.

Wouldn't this add a hidden fee in the form of exchange rate costs, or is was it only in the past we had to pay this when buying things online?

Depends on your bank / credit card provider.

Well, I guess it's time for Viktor nerfs even though he has been this strong since his rework?

I feel ashamed that I didn't even know what viktor's kit did until today.

That is correct as currency prices goes down import prices go up. Though I don't pay too much attention to currency prices and movements lately so your guess is as good as mine on that part.

Is virtual currency really an imported good?

On March 07 2015 04:48 Ansibled wrote: Is virtual currency really an imported good? Maybe. It depends on how the company producing it wants to look at it. Generally you would think that because digital goods are essentially zero marginal cost that the producing company would revenue maximize independently for each currency area. But the value of a currency would still effect that, probably in the same direction as if it were an import.
In this case riot doesn't seem to want to do the legwork on maximizing (though they might do that for China and Brazil, not sure on pricing there) and so are behaving as if they're a competitive producer.
Edit: import price changes are driven by the cost of production in the other country, which does not change and so in order to retain profit per unit prices have to increase (a drop in prices means that you fail to meet your cost of capital). It's not driven by money being physical. The reason that digital goods would not behave the same way is because digital goods have essentially zero marginal production cost and so their efficient pricing has nothing to do with the price level in the importing country. The reason you might see price changes follow would be responses to substitution effects (lower currency prices mean higher import prices which means substitution towards digital goods which means efficient digital good price increases but that is just back of the napkin I am not going to run the statics on it)

Sure but + Show Spoiler +Faker happens to be faker
Viktor has been shit elsewhere. Even in the games he has won he hasn't been very impactful in either the LPL or the Korean leagues. He has been picked as a top laner in China right after the changes (or maybe Korea i forget which) and was unimpressive. Most of the time he has been picked in Korea its been pretty explicitly a troll pick (I.E. a much stronger team picking into a much weaker), and even in some of those games he hasn't performed decently (GE tigers for instance nearly lost a game due to vik having no presence on a troll pick)
Its not going to be another Veigar situation where he gets played and then is subsequently bodied the next week.

Undefeated of the East?!?!
Are you saying Viktor is... MASTER ASIA?

idk I thought Rapheal's Vik was really solid.
The first Dragon fight in Kuro's first Vik game last week, he traps 3 people and combos them for like 3/4 of their health, bad team sure, but he looked really good in that particular game.

I am cautiously optimistic about the viegar situation. On one hand i don't want him to be a support because that doesn't feel right. But on the other hand, support really does fit what veigar's theme is (which is to make the other team not have fun).
With the way his stun was, it would be really hard to make him into a powerful mid, so if you're working on the stun, then that has to go. But at the same time they totally bodied him and totally didn't think they were going to. You can get some absolutely hilarious farm with his Q now, which you could not do before. But even with 1300 AP and +250+ Q farm you have a tough time killing people because you have to land a stun first. Maybe Morello->CDR boots-> Lichbane could work, and you just farm and hit towers and then eventually you have to much AP you don't need to land your skills you just lichbane someone for all their HP

GE is currently 4-0 on Viktor playing it against IM and Samsung. If any result is meaningless, those results are meaningless.

http://na.lolesports.com/lck/2015/spring/standings for people wondering what he is saying. IM is 6th at 3/4. And Galaxy is 0-9. You can go look at the most recent games against samsung, but the second one GE only pulled out by the skin of Pray being amazing and in neither of them did Viktor do much

As someone who played Viktor a ton before his rework its pretty weird to see him getting play now. I honestly feel like he is weaker now. Sure, his lategame is a a bit better, but he lost his ridiculous midgame powerspike where laser would just wreck people in one hit, and you could actually land it pretty easily. He just doesn't feel as strong as xerath or whatever for both being no mobility.
