Shaco is basically: If balanced for competitive OP in soloQ (currently fairly good SoloQ, but still not very good in competitive). IMO Rek Sai is the opposite where a ton of her power in competitive doesn't translate into a soloQ game. A little like Lee Sin, but less so because props are more mechanical with Rek Sai, and more so just because of the importance of vision and map presence. Shaco's a really, really difficult champ to balance with his current skillset, and definitely anti-fun(I dislike the term, but it's very applicable here). Feast or famine champ, with a skillset that basically comes down to camping the shit out of a couple of lanes, and hoping enemy jungler isn't there to countergank. Even after 4 years of shaco, he's still my least favourite champion in the game.

Like there's literally no point to it. The companies involved disagree (Twitch, Azubu), the player himself doesn't want it (Faker, pending official statement when he wakes up), and the developer is against it (and will both issue a DCMA immediately in response AND change their ToS)...so uh. But Reddit apparently likes to TAKE IT TO THE MANNNNN~

I actuially dont understand this game right now. Like... What do you do after you take all their tier1 towers? I keep snowballing my team into a huge lead... then like I dont know how to close from there.

In pro games I'm watching and I feel like Burrowed-Q needs a 30 second cooldown when combined with Tremors. Her teammates actually defend her tunnel network and there is always an objective being contested so her ult's power seems maximized. Shes obviously a must pick/ban and IMO most regions are actually under-utilizing the kit based on some of the games out there.

Alternatively you just bait nash if the game is at that point I guess. But you'd be surprised how much vision makes you not have to wonder about what to do because it provides with plenty of opportunities and then you just have to ride the tempo.

So to me it's pretty clear that people play ranked to win. That's fine and I understand that. I also understand, that by extension, that I should be doing everything that I can to win. So then does that mean when I play ranked I have an obligation to pick champions who best fill our team composition, or to play champions who are flavor of the month? So to give an example, if I am first pick and I go ahead and pick Darius, am I doing the rest of my team a massive disservice with my choice in champion? Another way to frame my question is: Is it alright to play ranked to see how far you can make it with a particular champion? Or if I play ranked I should be there for the team and not myself. If I want to play Darius top I should go play normal games instead. And it's not a matter of lack of effort in game. In ranked I always try my hardest. But when the drafting occurs, what should my mindset be? I'm not sure if I framed my question correctly, so please ask if you're unsure what I am asking. Thanks in advance!

MMR is supposed to iron out issues such as the one you are bringing forth, but it's not perfect. I would play how you want, your MMR will show that in its own way. There will be games where something you did wasn't 'normal' and I guess that could fuck with the balance of that individual game, but so can just plain old performance variance, so I wouldn't worry about it.

fotm picks are sometimes are just too op to matter solo/team like when Yasuo was strong. But then you also have picks that people don't really know why the pros do it but they pick it anyway because it must be the best I actually think Janna picks in lower elo or by non-support mains are a really strong example of this although I suspect some will disagree. tl;dr dominating your lane is a lot more important in solo than in pros, or Darius would be fotm imo

Rek Sai, once she is toned down, will be kind of like (to me) old Shen (must pick/ban 45-45% soloQ winrate) plus Jungle Elise (basically the same). Its all these tools that are tailor made for an environment of constant ward/counterward/wardclearing and threatening neutral objectives. And the fact that she doesn't need blue to keep up clear speed helps. Now, Rek Sai is still good in soloQ because her base values are still out of control, but I'm sure that will be gradually toned down (or crushed in fell swoop, Olaf style baby).
