That game wasn't too fun. I got reminded that Viktor is trash at pushing pre-first item and that Mordekaiser's E with 700 range is really annoying when you have underaverage auto range too. x)
Everyone bans Eve tho, I don't get why.
nobody likes Eve

Also for some reason I find Nemesis Draft a lot of fun. It's basically all personal skill because both teamcomps suck.

Eve can serve as an initiator and not be useless if the other 4 are squishies. Not every champion can say the same.

confused by the Morde changes now that I actually read them, like I know Ketara was making fun of people by doing his whole 3k dmamage shield thing but I think the better analogy here is something along the line of
would you take a 5% damage nerf to go from a 5k shield to a 10k shield (hyperbole intended)
like at first glance thats double omg! but if you already have a 5k shield you aren't dying either way so you might as well take the damage, and that is how I feel about the rework, I don't think anyone that plays a lot of morde feels like he's squishy after he hits 2+ items (or even his naked game is pretty good up until you get below half health from abilities) Being tanky isn't really his problem at all.
now, looking at them mabye riot wants him to be a tank but other than the shield allowing you to close on your teammates I'm not sure what what he really brings to the table, especially with all of his base damages being hit, he still has no cc and no gap closer.
|
Was morde damage really so bad that they had to take off that much off? They didn't increase his max shield either, which sort of boggles my mind, especially if they want him to be more "tanky".
|
fwiw you can play him tank on live his base damage is good enough, Reapered used to play a lot of tank Morde in solo Q back when Sunfire rush was legit for tanks, it's not as bad as it mabye sounds, it's just when you get down to the nitty and your in a 3 game series for that promotion you want oh so badly, I can think of 5 top lane tanks I'd rather pick up without even looking at the roster (probly 10 if I really thought about it)
the thing of it is if you added something as dumb as, "casting W on yourself gives you lulu self w for 3 seconds in adition to the current effect"
he'd be super good as is, and that is why this rework is confusing to me, he has problems, tankyness isn't one of them. his damage is actually super high on live, and if you could reliably combo non retarded people, you could possibly justify nerfing his damage a bit, but because they are not compensating with any way to get more damage down I'm not sure how they justified reducing his damage.
the more I think about this the more I'm just annoyed, it seems like a straight nerf, for a struggling champion. This patch cycle has me right in the jimmies.

I started typing /mute all at the beginning of every game and my enjoyment (and winrate) of this game has gone up considerably. Really wish there was an integrated voice comm in this game. It's been proven that people say worse things under the shield of anonymity from typing rather than speaking it. Once you start actually using your own voice to communicate you cross an interpersonal barrier that kind of exists in regular face to face communication.

About a year ago, Smite implemented Curse Voice "join teammates in comms" button in god select. I know (or at least, I think) League advertises/uses it as well, but not easily through client, and I think HiRez really hit the nail on the head with that one. The quality of games (in both teammates and opponent play and attitude) increased IMMENSELY immediately upon its implementation.

curse not actively supporting mac is kinda a problem on that front

Not really advisable imo.

Most of the necessary stuff can be communicated via pings anyway. I don't mute all anymore, but I do mute at the first sign of dickery.

Seems to be working fine for him, both in happiness with the game and success.

nobody say anything important in solo q but chat is the best bit

Lol.
The thing this Nemisis draft thing brings to my mind; no one understands teamcomps. People keep picking the other team shit like Raka-Janna-Sona-Nami then wondering why they hard lose. lol.

proof and point. enemy drafts us 4 protect 1 comp, and they wonder why they lost.

So, I just played a Nemesis game as jungle taric, and... damn dude. That was actually a lot better than I thought it would be. I thought like I just wouldn't be able to clear, but it wasn't too bad. Pretty mediocre first clear at best, but after that you clear with full HP without even needing Rangers Trailblazer.
Point and click stun ganks always good (not to mention that burst, heh), Heal bait ganks are awesome, and Taric auras still pretty stronk.
Certainly not a top tier jungler, but it actually works pretty well. Slow though.

Well there's nothing wrong with muting everyone if it helps you play better, but you should recognise that you are losing a potential tool which helps organise/coordinate your team.
If you find you're sensitive enough to what people say in chat that muting makes you a discernably better player, then that's great, but you're also punishing the teammates who actually try and use chat properly (ask/answer questions and coordinate plays) just because you don't have thick enough skin to not get tilted by what the minority say.
