Gogo OMG I would assume some amount of them will just retire if they fail and go do military service then come back and try to cast~

Mostly I'm hoping the young, talented ones come back like pawn and rookie maybe Looper. Most of SSW were getting up in age and I imagine they only had a season left in them anyway

The more I look at this the more I wonder if this is the most stacked league of all time. Its basically all the best Koreans minus a handful like Faker plus all the best Chinese players. Obviously how the Koreans integrate is key to whether these on-paper powerhouses actually end up being good or not, but just in terms of individual talent the LPL is goddamned ridiculous right now. This could potentially work out amazingly for us viewers. Korea is so deep that by having an exodus of top talent, we get to watch the new generation come in early. Within a year I'd bet OGN will have more or less caught up, maybe not to quite the same level as the Samsung teams were at but at least well enough to field 3 really strong teams at worlds. Meanwhile the LPL went from being interesting to absolutely must see. We could end up with 2 OGN-calibre leagues to watch this year, which is so cool

They seemed to be really good friends on the True LoL Show episode. They're still on the same team. After the mad Exodus spree started China adopted the 3/5ths rule on Chinese players, so some teams ended up with more Koreans than they were allowed to play. According to Fionn, Rookie(while still an upgrade over their mid) is a smaller upgrade over their chinese top and jungle, so it doesn't make sense to play him and lower the overall level of the team by taking another Korean out of the starting lineup. Aluka is the former positive energy top, in spite of an LPL championship he's never risen above mediocrity and was always a firmly bottom half top laner. Aluka isn't a terrible laner but beyond laning he's well below the mark especially now that top lane in LPL has improved a thousand times with acorn/looper/flandre/skye joining LPL. Ninja isn't the worst, he has some solid matches but he is heavily dependent on jungle pressure. He struggles in a direct 1v1 and really even with jungle help he never elevates himself above pretty good, he may carry with a lot of help mid but outside of a few peak matches he's a very mediocre mid laner. They aren't like bottom barrel dumpsters but they've been firmly bottom half for their entire careers and from the BO5 with spirit against EDG even a jungler as strong as spirit didn't result in either of them performing better. Styz and spirit could be contending for a championship and conan has been getting better recently but those two are a serious detriment to world elite contending for the title imo
