I thought that teams weren't able to import more than 2 non-regional players and any new changes to the roster; thus how was TSM able to swap out Amazing for Santorin when they were already over the cap for non NA players?

They just can't have more than 2 non regional players on a team at the same time. So they swapped one non-regional player for another and still have two (him and Lustboy).

Oh fuck you're right, I guess he hasn't been living in the US long enough to be considered a resident.

Edit: Okay yeah, I have no idea how this rule works because I was under the impression they had to replace exempt non-residence with regional players, at least that's they way people interpreted the rule when it came to LMQ.

http://www.redbull.com/us/en/esports/stories/1331676933955/riot-announces-new-rules-about-regional-movement

The Interregional Movement

League of Legends is an international eSport that’s growing rapidly as Riot announced they’re adding two spots to the NA and EU LCS for season 5, bringing up the total to ten teams for each region. The goal is to make it more rewarding for players to participate in the challenger scene, as they will have a bigger chance to grow and earn their salaried spot as a professional if there are more roster spots open.

However, Riot really doesn’t want these new LCS spots to create another LMQ. LMQ was a team founded in China that came to North America to find an easier professional spot. They hit the solo queue ladders in a tour de force last season and then climbed their way into the relegations, eventually ousting XDG Gaming 3-0 in the 2014 Summer Promotion Tournament.

According to Riot, teams will now only be allowed to have two non-resident players each—unless they’re exempt. An exempt non-resident would be a person who started for a LCS team in 2014, is already on a LCS team, started for a Challenger team in 2014, or was on an active roster of a team in the 2014 summer promotion.

In other words, this will not affect existing teams composed of players that aren’t residents such as LMQ; however, it would prevent another region from sending a team in to compete in the expansion tournament for season 5. It will also prevent teams from importing more than two team members from another region to be on their roster at the same time.

So I guess as Santorin was a part of Team Coast, he's allowed to be picked by TSM.

Wait, I think the exempt non-resident status extended into the Challenger Series as well so Santorin is considered one since he had been playing for Coast.

The rule is two per team but any player who was in CS/LCS before the rule was implemented are exempt and can be swapped between teams. So amazing --> santorin is okay but amazing --> kottenX for example is not because kottenX was in EU LCS last season while santorin was in NACS.

Bjergsen is an exempt non-resident. He is, for TSM's purposes, considered an NA player because he was present in the LCS before the rule was established. This means that Lustboy and Santorin are the only two "foreign" players present on TSM.

Santorin was on Coast last Summer, so he is exempt.

Yeah I thought Bjergsen got grandfathered in because he was in before the rule was made.

That's for all players playing in the region before the rule. A player needs to spend two years primarily in the region to be considered a full fledged resident, as far as LCS is concerned.

He's an exempt non-resident so he still technically still counts against TSM in terms of foreign players. The only reason they can do it is because Sanatorin is also an exempt non-resident because he played for Coast. TSM couldn't have dropped Amazing and brought in a different EU Jungler.

So basically you can have any number of exempt non-residents and they only count toward your number of foreigners if you have at least one actual foreigner?

Yes. That's why LMQ would have been able to exist as a team full of exempt non-residents but if they wanted to bring in any new player it had to be another expect non-reisdent or an NA player.

EUW is lagging really hard, I have up to 2s delay on minions dying and damage appearing upon hitting stuff.

Playing as Lissandra and my Q just came off cooldown before I saw the actual projectile...
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

So there's a new item on PBE and it is uuuuh, interesting
Void Gate

"Void GateSells for: @Value@+40 Armor
+50 Magic Resist
+100% Base Health Regen
UNIQUE Passive - Point Runner: Builds up to +30% Movement Speed over 2 seconds while near turrets or void gates
UNIQUE Active: Spawns a gate at target location for 150 seconds (150 second cooldown, can't be placed near turrets). Every 4 seconds the gate spawns a volatile voidling that travels down the nearest lane. These voidlings explode when attacking structures and will ignore champions.
Voidlings and Void Gates get stronger based on champion level."
