No it is not the same thing. Ingame you call it a "shot caller", not "captain". For example on EG Snoopeh was team captain (albeit not officially), as he was mostly determining what the team was doing outside of the game. Also probably chiefly responsible for going to NA now. But ingame others were more important for calling shots.

But no really, making decisions for a team is very unique to each team, depending on how much latitude you can give to each player. Some players are better when given specific orders, others are better with more independence.
What works for one team may not work for another team so it's kinda hard to say who is a good decision maker and who isn't when it's entirely dependent on their style of captaincy and their play style of their teammates.

The first SKT T1 team (reapered and his solo queue babies)
He was a shot caller in the same way that Reginald was. Literally every thing that happened they asked Reapered. I remember there was some funny ones like "do we hit the turret" "they're poking us do we poke back?" and they ended up winning the first tournament they were in
There is a post on reddit with the actual voice comms recorded and translated somewhere

They bought Velocity's spot, and moved Snoopeh, YP, and Krepo over to be joined with Innox and pobelter. Still waiting on full roster discloser, though, we only have Ongamers.net confirmation
