Couple of factors lead to her decline, from nerfing spell vamp, nerfs to Yorick (who acted as insurance to keep her alive to to DPS), rise of hard assassins who can kill her so she can't do her insane DEEPS (even if they die for it, Cass is always a larger threat), and she got some minor nerfs to base damage and ratios (-10 dmg on Twin Fangs and -.1AP on her Q): all these things led to her disappearing from the competitive scene. Her laning can still be oppressive depending on the matchup (and her level 2 kill potential remains through the roof), and her dps is still DEEPS, it's just incredibly hard to play her right/well.
I remember playing her in the days when she was sleeper OP. Was once fed enough to literally 1v5 an entire enemy team (full health) for a penta (one of the few legit cases where I 1v5d). Enemy team tries to gank me when I was taking their blue, melted them all. Mind you, this was back in late S1 when I was nub silver and my opponents were worse than I am so it's not an accomplishment, but it was hilarious at the time.

that Apdo story just made me enjoy my evening class 100x more. That guy is epic. Too bad we will never see him in competetive play like Incarnation.

... Wut.
Sad about the removal of the Harry Potter reference to the Philosopher’s Stone, (as well as the Medieval reference IRL) So now when you talk about the philosopher's stone, people associate it with Harry Potter? Really?
Damn.

That was the reason i started playing cass in 3v3. Its getting better though, I am playing with a silver and a low gold friend so i need to carry hard so gaining a slight advantage isn't enough most of the time. She sorta sucks in 5v5 because she roams badly and has weak ganks but that doesn't matter if you play 3v3 as its top lane that ganks anyway.

Finally got around to watching that Cass video, the early level auto attack kiting with spell usage was so fucking sexy.

Cassiopeia 3 13 18.8%
i'm basically a god.

Problem with Cass is, you have to outplay someone by like such a huge margin to make Cass look good, or that impressive. When you can just play fizz, and roll face on keyboard and do the same thing.
Also I like how his "Fail" clips, involve him getting a triple kill before dying. lol.

Does anyone else read this as a subtle brag or is that just me?

Does anyone else read this as a subtle brag or is that just me? Both I and the enemy team were horrible at the game at the time, as I disclaimered. It doesn't take much skill when the enemy team walks at you in more or less a blob (but it was still hilarious). I haven't been able to play her to a competitive degree since late S2/gold; too hard. Or jungle for that matter.
Speaking of which, with S3 rewards, I'm now down to 14 more champions before I've got em all (using IP only). I'm getting closerrrr (one more year with this release schedule!).

Eh so long as I can still type Shurelya and get the item that it is I'am perfectly fine with it. I always associated the philo stone to classic myth..harry potter had one too? Was that a movie title? I feel out of touch..

sorcerer's stone was the title for the american release and the original uk was philosopher's stone, you uncultured buffoon

Philo stone was actually called a Sorcerers Stone in America FYI (for Harry Potter). This was done to avoid confusion with the hundreds of other Philo Stone references in pop culture and make Harry Potter seem more unique.
Edit. Kennen'd

I blame the lack of education of the general populace on the origins of the philo stone. People don't take enough history apparently. All the converting lead to gold and whatnot.

I used to really enjoy Harry Potter nerdom, and JK explained it in an interview how I just did.
Nothing was a better timesink than D2 Cow Runs + Speculating on whether the Goblins would join Voldemort after B4.

I bet we'd have had hover bikes and space colonies in the 1700s if Newton hadn't gotten wrapped up in alchemy. That's alchemy's legacy, it left us all the cool stuff to invent.
