Its not the ideal way to throw, but it looks like an exaggerated version of a discus throw, or some of the more wacky throws a 2nd baseman makes turning a double. | ||

You need to generate momentum for an effective throw. You don't just stand and throw with only your arm, it's a full body endeavor. It might be a little exaggerated, but not nearly as much as you guys are implying. | ||
