On July 05 2013 19:32 Sponkz wrote: So according to Deficio, the reason behind the departure of nRated was a long-term issue, that already started back in the previous round of LCS. Translated from http://gaming.dk/6379 "Back in the previous season there was major issues with him. His attitude towards the game was not the same as the rest of the fnatic line-up. This replacement is very much okay and it's nRated's own fault that he threw it all away. When you wanna spend more time on your girlfriend or going out partying then training, then you throw it all away." I still don't understand why the team didn't give nRated the straight facts and a final warning along the lines of "we expect you to practice more and if you don't, we are going to have team changes". Reading the statement from nRated, it came as a surprise to him that he would get kicked at all. However, if the team clearly communicated to nRated that he needed to change his mentality and do more, then he is at fault for not stepping up.I do have a hard time believing that nRated would flat out refuse to put more effort into practice though. I may be completely wrong with this but to me it sounds an awful lot like a leadership and/or management problem. :/

Edit: And one could argue that support is the role the benefits the least from playing soloQ and much much more from getting a good synergy with your ADC/team through scrims.

They aren't nerds playing games, this is their job and all 5 of them are reliant on each other performing at absolute top level.

No this is the case of working only 8 hours a day finishing all your required stuff but not doing additional work your team and bosses expect from you because you still want to have sth from your freetime outside of work/ the game

You do what is expected of you by the coach and the team or you find a new team. Its a competitive environment, you can't put in a set amount of effort and be done and hope to succeed. Everyone is expected to do everything in their power to gain an edge. Especially if you are living in a teamhouse you have basically signed your life over to that one goal. Maybe kicking him was a bad decision team performance wise, maybe it was a good one. We don't really have the inside info to know. But its silly to say it was improper or unfair.

Its not what ok, it's what results in success at the elite level of competition in any field. Fun or morality doesn't even enter into it. Its why you damn well better love the game if you even think about going pro.

That's not even effective... Overtraining and all Still even if the work time is 10 hours instead of 8 the point would stand

Because that's the decision they had to make. Unfortunately LoL is a team game. It wasn't one manager or something impulsively removing him, it was a joint decision by his teammates.

That's not even effective... Overtraining and all Overtraining in Esports. I'm not even sure it exists sadly. In more active sports its a physical fact that too much training results in actual observable physical damage to your body. In esports the argument is that mentally you aren't improving after a certain time period. Sure, maybe for some if you can't handle 10 hours of LoL or SC then you will burnout with that practice schedule, but if you read about what kind of practice the Esport elite like Flash or Jaedong were putting in at their peak performance....its over 8 hours a day. Well over 8 hours a day. And they smashed everyone. People playing at foreigner level commitment or not on pro-teams would never even take a game off of them. So while semi-pro Joe might actually do worse if forced to play 8 hours a day, that doesn't necessarily mean an elite level player shouldn't play even more than that to achieve the best results. I mean I would wreck myself if I tried the practice routine of a world class marathon runner, but that doesn't mean that regimen isn't the best for absolute peak performance.

Anyway change of topic. I want to grab a top laner that is pretty safe vs anyone so can pick it early on. My shen seems a bit iffy and malphite is often banned. What do you guys suggest? I normally play Irelia/Shen/Malph/Zed top and thinking maybe someone like yorick.

Can you imagine how frustrating it must be to be a teammate of a person who persists in maintaining his "life" yet you can't kick him because of backlash?
