As an engineering student i regret buying a laptop; I'd put the $1k into buying a solid comp over a laptop. Mainly because AutoCAD destroys anything that can't handle it.

Quality assurance and computer engineering. I guess those aren't common acronyms and yeah auto cad is another beast entirely. I don't do anything that graphics intensive though.

So, uh, Tiger Udyr...yeah, I think he's dead. Phoenix Udyr is better on top and in the jungle now. Tiger Udyr loses a lot of pushing power and after the nerfs, he can't really win many matchups anymore.

Was thinking chemical engi  but if you're not planning on doing any heavy work on your laptop i'd very much recommend getting a (cheap as fuck) notebook computer to carry around and buying a computer for at home that would be better for gaming. A comp that can run LoL and D3 on respectable decent settings shouldn't cost much.
This is from the perspective of someone who only does pc gaming at home and hates lugging a laptop around at uni though.

I got a G400 from Gearbox for free because I went to their community day in Dallas. Was pretty cool although it's covered with Borderlands 2 art and I don't really care about Borderlands. So yeah, go to events. You'll get free shit.

Depends what kind of drawings you doing. Civil/Mechanical/Vessel, should be fine. But if you doing a plant drawing, you need like a fucking 8947830548-3124 core computer.

Last semester I had to use COMSOL on 2006 hardware. Needless to say, it did not go well.(OoM on very simple 2D flow)
Thankfully the labs have since been upgraded.
