He always talks like it's a personal conversation rather than an interview whenever he speaks with someone from clg, nick allen etc. Makes the interviews far more entertaining tbh.

I dont really know what these guys are on aboiut, I'd say the average sports broadcast kicks the shit out of the average eSports broadcast in terms of value, commentary, entertainment, and production value. I like eSports, but we have randoms who happened to be roommates with some pro player two years ago doing all the reporting work. Real sports has a guy who spent 4 years getting a degree on how to be an expert broadcaster. You ask any sports fan if they have any one call that sticks with the, stays in their mind more than the actual event itself and everyone has at least one of them. I honestly have been watching eSports for probably five years, and I can't think of a single time watching eSports that this has been the case outside of Korea... Hell, aside from maybe korean commentators going nuts after Doublelifts OGN pentakill, but the Koreans have much better production value in eSports than we do. For example, I could recite the entire call from the tying goal in an Oilers game from 2007, I have the call itself more memorized than the play however remarkable it was. I've seen some equally remarkable, equally epic eSports moments, but none of them stick with me the same way. None. Thing is, my sports list could go on and on and on.

This still gives me the chill Of course eSports can't compare to any high-quality tv-produced sports. If they were able too, we'd live in a strange world :p

Ofcourse TV broadcasts have better production values... but shouldn't that quality of content be the goal?

![]() EDIT: I also do think that the quality has gone up. Compare the Season 1 championship to LCS and you can definitely see the changes.

Now that we are able to watch it all the time, we want it to be ESPN/SkySports/SuperSports quality production and that just isn't gonna happen over night. Soooo much has changed for the better in the past few years. In 4 years we went from staying up until the wee hours of the night for 240p quality to free 720p quality with VODs, dedicated casters, schedules, interviews, recaps - all the things we love. It just takes time, and to be honest I am really impressed with how far the Esports community has come in just a few years. Unrelated, I stepped into the SC2 thread about Khaldor's video of the popularity difference between LoL, SC2, and BW and holy moly. How did I spend so much time in those forums? I know the mods are doing the best I can but dayum. Please TL LoL, don't let those evildoers in here!

ive never thought, shit, singed is using a tactic than lets him free farm but also gives us free kills, we're screwed fucking singed freefarms all day against almost every champ anyway, and the best result you can get is to kill him early a few times before he starts doing that so the only difference is he gets a bit more cs early but dies more

I sometimes wish I pursued casting instead of going to get my doctorate because I'd blow everyone but Kobe and Jatt out of the water.

Rivington yells for no reason when there's nothing going on and uses phrases he thinks sound cool over and over and over ("on the backside"), Phreak is good but not Kobe/Jatt level, Deman's good but he really forces it when he thinks he's right, Joe Miller is awesome but also a bit argumentative at times. Montecristo and DoA are acceptable level as a pair. I sometimes wish I pursued casting instead of going to get my doctorate because I'd blow everyone but Kobe and Jatt out of the water. yeah its true kobe is the best because hes a lot more charismatic tho joe miller is 3rd but he was a beast in quake you shoulda kept casting, dat soothing voice
