My initial runepages for supports were stuff like AD/armour/scaling MR/MS (because that was one of my 2 initial pages) and it went pretty well with my hit-and-run style so it's easier to get in range and my auto harass hits harder. I'm running gp5 right now but I'm pretty sure with the way I play Leona using the initial page would suit me better: more armour, and MS so it's easier to get in range/zone people. I'm just too lazy to try that. | ||

The thing about flat MR is, the extra survivability you get at level 1 compared to scaling MR is way higher than the survivability you lose at level 18, since at level 1 the flat MR runes are literally your only source of MR (besides maybe 5 from masteries), while you'll probably have built some other MR items by the time you hit level 18. The difference going from 30->42 (scaling@1 compared to flat) MR is much more significant than going from like 100->112 (flat compared to scaling@18) later. A lot of people argue that some roles simply won't run into magic damage until level 9 anyway, but level 1 invades are always a possibility so you can't always rule out magic damage pre-9. That said, I still get scaling MR on a bunch of pages, mainly AD carry ones, since I probably won't be getting any extra MR (besides a friendly bulwark) the whole game and the extra MR from the scaling runes actually adds up to quite a bit. I also run scaling MR on my jungle pages but I'm debating this, and right now the only things holding them in is laziness really EDIT: math | ||
