Fuck you, he's 20 years old and if you're going to criticize him for taking his first vacation since he went pro then eat a dick.
P.S. I'm having dinner with him and some friends tomorrow

Dude 5hit get me an autograph bro. I love the league community, its gotten to the point where I just avoid it and only watch the games myself because I can't tolerate half the personalities on reddit or twitter.

Sorry Cixah, I make it a point to never treat him any different than I did before he became famous, so I don't ask for autographs or pictures. I think I only have one picture with him and it's from back when he used to live here. It's funny because the day after he came back last week we hung out at Ala Moana (biggest Hawaii mall) and about 40-50 people came up to him to ask for pictures/autographs. People show up literally everywhere he goes asking for things. It's kind of surreal because he's just a regular dude, although he is really cool and living the dream.

He's a 20 year old who in some form chose to become an official 'pro' in a game with a pro circuit, which comes with some expectation of results and whatnot. Him being nice and down to earth have nothing to do with the above comment. If an employee was showing poor results in the workplace and promised you he would do everything he could to address the recent dip in performance, you sure the fuck would question why he then put in for 3 weeks of vacation, took extra lunches, and socialized more than ever around the office.
It's not a golden standard, it's just 'standard.'

Just tell him to get his shit back together. I was a huge fan before he joined TSM, I hope you find some way of conveying that to him. Many people I know feel the same. Hawaiian Dyrus was the shit.

Its funny, even before the finals TSM was practicing super hard, like all the time i heard people talk that they would scrim for as long as they found partners, and that they had trouble finding enough people to scrim with, because other clans did not want to scrim as much as they did. And then i came here, and it was always like LOLZ, TSM DOES NOT PRACTICE AT ALL, LOL THEY SO IRRELEVANT NOW.
They arent the only NA/EU clan taking a break now, but they are the one that gets laughed at for doing so.
edit: Even pro athletes in most sports take a few weeks out of the year after the season is over to relax, and get your mind back in order. There is nothing wrong with that.

He has the right to do whatever the fuck he wants, but people also have the right to point out that it's pretty silly to talk about 'doing everything to win' and then going on vacation.

What the fuck am I reading He does, but you need to realize that e-sports is competitive, and any time you're not spending getting better, somebody, somewhere is, and one day he will be better than you. The same goes for normal sports, but they have vacations because their bodies get exhausted and they NEED that vacation. The only thing that gets exhausted while playing league is your mind, so ''stronger'' people will practice more and become better. The fact that ''talent'' pretty much doesn't exist also makes working and practicing that much more important.

i merely commentet on it being kind of funny.
whatever, i guess its better to keep my toughts regarding TSM to myself, even on this site :p

Dude, seriously, he hasn't been HOME in a year. For someone who grew up in Hawaii and never left until he went pro in video games that's a BIG DEAL and you guys probably wouldn't understand exactly what it's like. The first thing he says to me is "Holy shit, my skin feels so much better here, it's always so dry in the mainland" and small things like that are really big when you grow up in Hawaii.
I've talked with him personally about TSM and trust me, he's not stupid, he has better insight than ANYONE ELSE about the inner workings of TSM. You guys don't even know the whole story, just what you pick from his twitter and facebook or vlogs or whatever. Trust me, he knows and has heard anything you're going to tell him.
Now give him a fucking break, he's not even 21 years old.

Hum, except for koreans I don't think there are a lot of people who practice 24h/24h without getting exhausted. Maybe he was exhausted mentally that's why he performed badly and sometimes stepping back allow you to come back stronger. P.S : I'm not a fan of the guy, I don't especially like him but the intolerance/hate is too strong. CLG.eu is performing badly as well but I don't see anyone blaming Froggen for going on a vacation.

You're being overly defensive, which is understandable, but not necessary. At the end of the day, he's a competitor. Improving himself and bringing results is his job. Nobody is saying that he shouldn't take a vacation. I agree that he should take some rest and prepare himself mentally for what he has to do. I just hope that he doesn't look tired and un-motivated every time he streams

Yeah, because this is my fucking personal friend that everyone is shitting on like he's got some debt to them and owes them anything.
TSM has a training schedule that they're going to follow in S3 and this is just the break before it's implemented. They have so many clauses built into their contract that nobody knows about that it's just silly to criticize them for how they practice. Let him take a break and live his life a little, I promise he'll perform better when he's happy and rested than he would if he practiced 24/7.

Taking a break from hardcore LoL practice is probably good for the guy. He'll get back to the TSM house with much more motivation, i'm sure.
Also ZERG_RUSSIAN, he has a lot of fans here (and in the rest of the community), it's just that haters often are more vocal about it. Feel free to let him know that.

Sorry if I'm overreacting. I'm sure you would do the same if one of your friends was insinuated to be lazy or lacking in motivation or whatever because he took a 2 week belated Christmas vacation to see his friends and family for the first time in a year.

For all the people who have trouble against AD mids (Talon/Pantheon etc.), you should try to play Maokai Mid with Magicpen reds, Armor yellows, ap/lvl blues and flat ap quints with 21/9/0 or 21/5/4 Masteries. First saw it on Chu8's Stream and it works good against almost everything (I didn't lose a lane with it yet). - Just max E and Q after (possible to take 2 in E and max Q first). - Start with Flask + 3 HPpots + 2 Manapots + Ward - Get RoA asap, following with sorcboots and Frozen Fist thingy Its also possible to go RoA, Sorcboots, Abyssal or DFG. Depends on enemy teamcomp
I really recommend trying this build, the burst is insane, I played almost any AP Champion in the game and Maokai is probably one of the champs with the highest Damage+Utility. His Passive heals so much against spammers like Pantheon, Khazix etc.
Edit: Also don't tell anyone else, don't want it to get nerfed

No problem. You are not overreacting one bit.
Blah, so bumped up for S3. Start already!

I don't know how much it applies to pro players, but I am close to completely unable to improve unless I am in an almost stress free environment for most of the day. Maybe it's just me being inferior to other people, but I would consider a relaxing vacation of appropriate lenght time well spent for improving LoL skills.
