Bruta ArPen synergizes negatively with Darius' E. His E is % ArPen, not % reduction, so flat pen from Bruta applies first.
That said, the fact that you're staying on 1 rank E till late means it's still probably a good item. But the combination with E is not a reason to get it.

Went more of a riveny build with 2dlbade bruta bt, but got randuins and an aegis instead of GA.
still had like 300~ AD, but had 3200 hp and like 190/150 or something armor/mr
seemed pretty decent

As a jungler, Darius' level 2 gank is brutal strong. I'd say its almost as strong if not stronger than say LeeSin.
Was playing Panth top vs GP (so, obviously I was being super aggro) and he just ran at me, I flashed and he just E'd me back further than I was before I flashed.

With Exhaust there was nothing I could do. Maybe I could have waited for his E to flash? But then he'd already have Exhaust/red buff slow applied and they'd have gotten lots of free hits.
It wasn't because our support warded wraiths and he didn't start there so I assumed he started blue. Golems>Red OP? Haha, maybe he saw Soraka put the ward down.

That's more of a pant thing than a darius thing tho, even mordekaiser can lvl2 gank a pantheon top lol.

so pretty much anyone with a good disengage wrecks darius it seems. Wukong, Renekton, Lee sin I've done extremely will vs darius with all three.

I don't think they changed normal draft at all. As a solo queuer, I haven't gotten the first spot at all today, been last pick ~10/11 including games where someone left during champ select and second last once. As a duo, I haven't been split off from my partner at all and we've never gotten 2nd/3rd selections. Anyone else have similar observations?

I dont see how I would have survived if I was playing any other champ either. Lane long enough that Darius would get to you unless you zoned yourself, and if he gets to you with Redbuff+E up you aren't getting away regardless of exhaust.
Only Champ I think maybe safe with standard opening is Riven with 3Q's up... Fizz too I guess, haha.

Yup.
His Ult guarantees that he gonna get kill money every game. I've honestly never seen a Darius not be a legitimate threat come late game.
(Although, I'm sure you guys are tired of hearing me whine about him...)
