However if you somehow survive to 6 you can generally burst the opponent and proceed to being annoying, still even in fights he's a really squishy melee. Really need to utilize E well. Also the CD imo is quite long actually, nowhere near 4sec.

All still viable.
As solo mid I recommend adding lux. Because lux is king.
But I'd say that atm any champion is viable (except for eve i guess) in solo queue. You just got to learn how to play against the new heroes that came out and it's all good.

Those are all still really solid picks. I don't now how often Nasus is seen at high ELO, but he does well if left alone for the most part. Taric kinda sucks past mid game with his change, but he's still good. WW is absurd now, imo.

I dunno, he's kind of hit or miss mid. Against some champs he just gets to do whatever he wants and dominate, others shut him down like no tomorrow. He's a boss early/mid game, but I feel like his damage doesn't scale well into the later stages and he becomes a ult bot that just sits on and harasses carries.

Is it or is not possible to get through the bottom lane thick island near tribrush and the mirror island block top lane near that tribrush with flash? Do you need to actually touch the wall to work or is it not even possible?

Actually if you play him properly he absolutly rapes skillshot based champs & champs with travel time on their nukes (think lux, anivia etc). It's basically impossible to win vs point & click insta dmg heroes though.
At level 6 he can 100-0 basically anything that didn't build tank and becomes incredibly fun to play (the vision from R is awesome, allowing you to Q through walls to kill ppl that flash when ulted =D).
It feels like he needs another AP in the team though, someone that can provide aoe damage/control on demand. Else you're just too squishy to do actual damage beyond your ult and a Q in a teamfight.
Enough thoughts about fizz, feel free to bump the fizz tread if you want some discussion on specific matchups.

I've heard that Fizz is good vs. spammy skillshot mid champs like cass, karthus, and ziggs. I've only really played him as a bruiser top and in that role he only does well vs. sustain lanes really, but he does seem to trade favorably with sustain laners because of his W.

Morgana. If she manages to play safe enough until level 5 to be able to pool then pull (...) back, she'll be annoying. But Playful/Trickster ensure that you catch here at a whim, while also allowing you to avoid her Q and/or her ult's second tick. She has long cooldowns so she can't compete in harass either, and you just go once to bait her shield, then you come back once your shit's off cd and there's nothing she can do.
It's an extremely frustrating and boring match-up for Morg if the Fizz player knows what he's doing. I guess you can tell the same for most long cd and/or skillshot based champs, tho...

I mostly play him in jungle, he's not great but decent and really fun. I tried mid vs cassio. I've never been raped so hard. Really never. I also faced a ryze top, it's a mindgame of when he will W you, but ryze is quite readable. However fizz's attack anim and his W passive makes it hard to farm.

I think it's because he can use Q to dodge one and hit them hard, then W, then dodge another one with E, hit another W and come out way ahead in trades. Don't ask me why, this is just what I hear from 2K Fizz players about the matchups that they want mid, I've never been a fan of AP Fizz.

i like fizz but i've never been able to make his laning work. i'm like 90% sure it's because i have no idea how to play his lanes correctly. if I somehow do manage to survive laning his killing power is just ridonkulous.
