You're vastly overestimating "carries" and forgetting they had a MORE fed graves on the other team.
Carries rely on having tanks that can engage the fight and pressure the team enough that you get to shoot stuff a lot without getting zerged down.
EDIT: People are ALWAYS like well after lane X is better than udyr, and then usually udyr is way better in teamfights.
