ARTS would be its acronym and that's just... definitely not as good as MOBA as far as not "being able to be told whether acronym or not."
I mean really, how does MOBA not tell you what type of game someone is talking about if they have any clue at all about DOTA/LoL/HoN's existence? It's not like you'd talk to someone who has no clue about RTS's and tell them that the game you're playing is an RTS, it wouldn't tell them anything. It's more a acronym for those "in the know."

Also, Action RTS isn't an acronym. Unless you shorten it to ARTS which just sounds stupid to be honest.
Ugh, I cannot imagine telling my friends, "Hey you guys wanna go play some ARTS?"

His reasoning is hilariously awful, if he's even serious. Not really worried about what the genre gets called; "MOBA" is fine with me since I haven't heard anything better. Although I can't take "Action RTS" seriously for a genre with so much farming.

I guess my point is that MOBA or ARTS I don't really care which term got popular. I might be unconsciously more inclined towards MOBA but I wouldn't be crushed if ARTS became mainstream either.

When you say moba, people understand what it is. Thus, moba is as accurate and effective a term as any of the other common terms (FPS, RTS, etc). There's nothing to discuss.

See, I have a problem with using ARTS because I do not pronounce that as an acronym. To be fair, I don't really pronounce MOBA as an acronym either but at least with MOBA it can't be mistaken for an actual word.
And honestly if I had to read reviews or stuff online about the ARTS scene or something it would drive me crazy. To demonstrate my point I decided to use my artistic skills:

I assume he means "A-RTS" like the letter. That would make it 4 syllabes. "A-R-T-S." Again, I'm assuming, and you know what they say what happens when you assume something...
