For all you people who are bemoaning the loss of HoN, Sundance has said in the past that he is possibly interested in adding HoN to MLG as well.

Although that will be another huge can of worms.

I for one find it hilarious how S2 and Riot are scrambling for tournaments in anticipation of dota2. It's also AWESOME. Shows you how a bit of competition can put pressure on the game makers to seriously support esports.

This game is great but in sense of watching it's not that fantastic =(. High level LoL doesn't have many kills in each game, compared to games like HoN and DotA. This is fantastic news for the e-sports scene though, also shows that Riot cares a lot about the future success of LoL post-DotA 2 release.

On one hand Im excited, it's a big tournament in U.S. with 4 NA teams(no EU ones)

Sounds pretty awesome.

On the other hand, no EU teams, no open bracket, and only 4 teams, are all meh for me as well.

Hopefully this expands into a bigger tournament with an open bracket next year when they can get more space for it, so then i can play.

The strength of LoL is its community, meaning that the open bracket would be hugely successful in participants and probably in scouting emerging talent.

There will be an open bracket in the future. MLG says this is just a test run to get a feel for how the game plays out.
