I've noticed that CLG tends to not play anything but big tournaments. Not taking advantage of things like Go4LoL which happen every week is a great way to rust your team.

Go4LoL pays like $100 and I think it's split between the team, so basically getting paid $20 to play/wait around for the whole day. CLG gets a shit ton of money from streaming so it's not even worth it to them.

Plus they lost to TSM a few weeks ago in a qualifying tournament... I believe it was for a NESL event/tourney and CLG didn't even get in because that was the last qualifying tournament and they didn't bother participating in the previous qualifiers since they figured winning it would be ezpz. (I think that's what happened, correct me if I'm wrong)

Apparently jiji was talking in IRC and wasn't making any excuses. He said they just plain sucked today.

Honestly CLG was getting too arrogant. The last time CLG lost to TSM, hotshot reviewed the replay and made excuses all day (like usual). He basically blamed everything on saintvicious/doublelift, had a "Well they got lucky, we beat them hundreds of times and they beat us once" attitude and kept saying "We would of won if we had our core 5" [jiji, chauster, hotshot, elementz, and kobe].

I'm pretty sure CLG never practices together, hopefully this will be a wake up call for them.

No one practices together. The teams in ranked 5's are so bad it's not even worth the queue time. Only practice is go4lol but that's 8 hours of stomping noobs and maybe facing 1-2 good teams in a bo1.

Easy fix: season 1 points for being in top 10 of 5s ladder.

That's bullshit. Rock Solid practice together a ton, they've played in more tourney settings than any other NA team I believe. So do scrappy team like EC. Grinding through ladder might be boring but it's better than doing nothing at all and jawing off for a week.

CLG doesn't practice and I'm not particularly sure why. It's not laziness cause all of them are on a fuckton of hours daily solo q'ing.

No one at top ELO really can practice together just as Shake pointed out. But during solo q they play together often, maybe only 2 at a time or so, but they still get some form of practice with one another from it.

and then Rambo goes 0-10 and loses to CheeseyFries. Idunno, any time we go ranked 5's it's a complete joke. Teach us Neo.

It was go4lol. They just didn't get to play in the monthly final. Still not a big deal.

It's CLG's loss if they don't practice together, from the sounds of it they have loads of players, I'm sure they could get some sort of top elo IHs going for practice or just ask the other teams. Even if Go4LoL US has not much competition it's still worth the practice, I know CLG love being solo q heroes though. :p The EU teams practice a lot as a team, and tbh in LoL that's worth the most. I really didn't think they would lose convincingly to LLL though, tictacs have a lot of top teir EU players, but I can't say the same for LLL.

Also impressive troll by Caller.

Why couldn´t CLG simply make smurfs on EU and practice there if the EU ladder is so much better?

yeah, they just need to play during prime time on EU so that they get no latency

Someone just told me in champ select that Singed isn't a tank. that he is an off-tank. Is there something I don't know?

They should probably practice with that EU latency to get used to it.

The difference between tank and off-tank is the same as the difference between a hard carry and soft carry. It's a hazy distinction, but generally off-tanks crumple under burst/focus and/or are worse at keeping people off of carries, etc. Singed and Mundo (and others) are generally considered off-tanks because of their low cc, pretty good damage output, and not much survivability if the entire enemy team is targeting them.

^^ I guess it could be about the oooold argument as to what exactly makes for a tank. But in Singed's case it's just semantics, and can be ignored.

On topic: Are the ESL schedules always posted on the day the games are played, or what? That site has me in a complete ezequiel from trying to pry these secrets from its clutches.
So zen.

again, they're too arrogant

AFAIK SaintVicious played exclusively on EU for a while and he got to pretty high ELO on solo queue. I specifically remember that one time someone on vent asked why doesn't CLG practice on the EU server and SaintVicious said that Jiji didn't want the EU teams to copy their tactics and team comps because they thought that they were so ahead of the curve skill-wise and they always thought the EU team comps/metagame/tactics/players were complete noobish.

Same with why they never broadcast their vent. In reality, I think Chauster is the only person on CLG who actually gets what goes on: they never do any special strategies or anything, they just make less mistakes than the other team and win. That works great against the US solo q superstar teams but is less effective against EU teams that practice together a lot more.

I really don't get it why they don't practice together. Teamplay is a partial in the core of good teams in LoL, so why it wouldn't be any different in the highest games. In my humble opinion it matters even more in those games.
