From my experience of playing vs him as Irelia, have him be 400 hp while me being full, him towerdiving me, killing from full hp, and leaving after taking 4 towerhits and still living, I'd say he's pretty strong

I just bought him and Nocturne, needed more variation in champs then just Karth/Fiddle with some annie.

Small nerfs, but on overall he's still just as strong.

Renekton is still really fun to play. HoG nerf cost a lot from his builds though.

I've gone like this yesterday (which was only Rektum day). This might be really wrong though because I am a newbie.
boots + 3 pots -> merc boots + longsword -> brutalizer -> giant's belt (Negatron Cloak if a lot of AP) -> ghostblade -> sunfire -> FoN -> Last Whisper -> Atmas

In my opinion, the sunfire -> bruta -> youmu -> tanky with FoN etc is the best build but I guess it depends.
I don't like bruta before finishing sunfire, sunfire gives more dmg anyway and you'll be kind of squishy for a while

So would you guys say that garen is viable in ranked atm? I tried him out in normals and even with movement speed quints I find myself getting outkited in most of the teamfights :s
His ult damage is kinda beastly, and harassing him out of lane is pretty hard. Just dominated a TF middle, lolol

He's not a good teamfighter but he's an awesome skirmisher, you should get the most out of him before the teamfights begin. In teamfights you'll want to rambo some squishy or cancel nunu ulti or something

When I played him in normals I was largely ignored and jsut sat in the middle of everyone spinning away and put out decent damage. I was able to do pretty much what I wanted most games but there were probably other champs who would have filled my role better in the end.

I kinda don't like SFC as well but it's really good item on champs that stay in the middle of enemy team for a long time - renekton surely is a champ that loves to be surrounded in teamfights
