Usually you don't get defense on marks, it's not really worth it. If you do, it's going to be an earlygame gimmick (like 80 armor Taric), and in that case you take flat armor (or flat mres).

On glyphs, I would get MRes/lvl over flat MRes, but flat is decent too.
Dodge is alright on some champs if you get Nimbleness on Defense tree as well (e.g. Singed), not worthwhile otherwise.
Mana5/level seals are also okay if your champion just gets horribly mana-starved without them.
MRes/level is an obvious choice over flat MRes if you're jungling, but I prefer flat MRes when I'm in a duo lane as Shen for instance. Mana5/level is also okay on some champions (I take 'em on jungle 'mumu)
Marks... yeah, just get something like Arpen, MPen, AS or whatever goes well with the champion.
Finally, Movespeed quints can also make sense on some tanks (again, Singed).

How to really troll this game: Get to a certain elo. Then every ranked game you play, just random a champion and demand solo. Do this every game, and then just mega troll people by making them think you're not trolling, but really mega trolling. Like ping enemy jungle, and then go first and then facecheck alone and give up fb. Then play legit for a bit, then just f your team up. Do this by intentionally or if you're bad, caught in the jungle, feign running away, but bait your team with things like ping or help, and then don't do anything and just die. Now, you don't want them to catch on that you're bad, so just say sorry lag or door, or something. Just keep baiting your team into fights and then doing nothing and killing them. Another example, is push, pretend to b with your team, stay behind, and call for help. That's best. Then do this for 3 days straight, and get me on your team on those days so I get pissed and come write about this on TL.

Why does EU ranked players freak out when there's no tank solo top? Just had a game where xin and ashe threatened to go afk at the start because nidalee went top instead of our tank vs Jarvan. Obviously won the game because we had 3 farmed carries as opposed to 2 and 1 tank =o.

Because their metagame dictates what the masses deem correct and normal.

Then get a zhonyas or even a second deathcap. Archangels is a waste on him. 2k mana only = 105 AP (60 +45) + extra mana he doesn't really need. Get blue buff and get an item that's a lot more useful. You'll never run out of mana with blue buff on him anyway and zhonyas is infinitely better with armor + AP and the 3 seconds = his cooldowns with 40% CDR (when you have a 20 stack soulstealer + blue buff.) So you can fire off another round of spells.
