I've even had a team say they were all going to report me "and keep reporting me every day until I get banned" because I walked into their hall of storms and B stepped during a teamleague game. And didn't get any punishment. So although I don't know how exactly the report system works, I'm inclined to believe that, if you get silenced, you probably deserved it - and if you don't, you'll have it revoked. | ||

They DO make mistakes, if you have replays I would try sending replays for proof, or find a good way to provide chat logs. I get fucking mad. I even saw one on the forum he wrote noob once. But was nice otherwise, he appealed the silence and it got overturned. And in some fresh cases i assume, blizz said what they wrote. I usually report for excessive pinging, too, so just because you didn't say anything abusive doesn't mean you couldn't be hostile to your teammates. I hate the people that dive in 1v5 and then assist ping me 50 times because I didn't suicide with them or didn't hat them as Abathur because I was busy making sure the two merc camps on the other side of the map don't take out our fort. Excessive pinging can be even more annoying than text chat. | ||

While being L15.8 vs Lv 14.X, best thing to do is push as 5v5 instead of taking camps, getting 16 and winning stuff. Or you know, when enemies are bossing, it's a good idea to split and do hard camp instead of having the dps to do our boss in time. And a thousand other similar stupid things. I'd rather have them playing their best hero, even if it's not that good on the map or doesn't fit the composition. Mechanical skill is everything in QM/HL until you reach Grandmaster - and probably even there. Team League is a bit different, because you can actively coordinate with your teammates. Yesterday, I got my first silence after over a year and a half of playing. I do chat quite frequently, so I knew I was running the risk of getting silenced at some point - the system is automated and whenever you say something remotely negative this horrible reddit attitude of people comes up. Everybody feels insulted INSTANTLY. Anyways, yesterday was different. I played artanis, picked him quite early in the draft, (2/3rd pick) but they had Raynor and Butcher, so I was confident. And I wanted to play some Artanis . This is when the flaming started. "OMG RETARD ARTANIS ISNT TANK" "lol gg go qm" "omg faggot art sucks" Literally these lines. I thought, wow, I am in for a fun time.We have an interesting draft, I was solo warrior, we had a Thrall, Zagara, Malfurion and a Li Ming. The other four were playing as a 4-stack, which is not a good thing, because they already started flaming me. It's Dragon Shire and we win the first DK. Zagara splitpushes bot lane whilst DK attacks mid fort. We get a nice exp lead. I use my Amateur Opponent to slam bot fort down. DK dies off, so I mount up and retreat. Zagara however, stays around and attacks the last tower in bot lane. I ping danger, but she stay around. Lo and behold, she gets ganked by a 4 man. This is when it starts. Ping Ping Ping "Retard tank why you not peel for me". Toastie: "Sorry I didnt die with you, you overcommit 1v4, not my fault". All four of them start pinging me and flaming insults. We win the game somehow (somehow? get carried fuckers). I get picked out of the menu, get the message "You have been silenced, blablabla". The four of the mass reported me because I carried them and I let Zagara die in a 1v4. This got me so extremely angry... Now, I know I can appeal, but I know I said things that they can bring up (literally everything justifies a silence at this point), but being silenced by a toxic four stack of idiots made me reaal mad. | ||

Yes, in the long run, it will converge on a point where the enemy has more than you do. However, they only bother you in your own team, and a 4/9 vs 5/9 probability in a tiny sample size of a couple of games makes it so you can be screwed hard over a day or two. | ||

Ended up with a Gazlowe - which isn't even bad, necessarily - and I was Li Ming. We also had a Tychus. I was thinking to myself 'yeah, we can get some really strong fights with grav bomb and drill so I can get a reset'. They go robo gobo (on towers of doom, no less) and Odin, and we get forced into 5v4s down levels until it's over. I just didn't think to say 'pls go grav bomb/drill' - I just expected it. | ||
