Like TheMusic said, Mariah can sing with the best of them. Eminem's become a sideshow. The only reason he ever got attention at all was because he's white and Dr. Dre adopted him as his blonde-haired stepson.
All this "beef" stuff is funny. Its the male equivalent of a sex-tape "revelation" for a woman. Its good at two points in one's career: when you're just starting out (Paris Hilton) or when you're getting desperate and need some headlines (Eminem, Erin Andrews more recently - still cute, but 30 and fading fast) etc.
So enjoy the show but don't take it too seriously.
Even if you don't like Eminem's lyrics, it's undeniable that he's skilled at rhyming. While it's true that anyone can rap, not anyone can rhyme well. It's difficult to come up with multiple syllable rhymes for each line while remaining coherent. A lot of people who hate rap don't realize that.
Some of his rhymes are quite witty too, like "Flavor with no seasoning, this is the sneak preview I'll diss your magazine and still won't get a weak review"

are you kidding? Mariah Carey is one of the top female vocals. And she he has nice boobs.
This.
People also don't consider how fucking hot she is.

On the other side, that's pretty low of him to talk openly like that, I guess rappers are "open" like that. And the track is kind of solid. But what's weirdest for me is what the hell did he find in her.
"EEYYYY, IM JOCKIN ON YO BITCH ASS!" that is not poetry. NAS is poetry and hip-hop =D

Oh come on, that erin andrews "sex tape" is a huuuuuuuuge reach. She wasn't even having sex for fuck's sake.
regardless of if this is a publicity stunt or not, eminem will always be a legend in my book and many others.. he's a lyrical assassin, and has talent that only a few have.. yea, he might be lucky to have dre and 50 hold him up and support him, but that's what made him stronger. I don't think he's fake, and I think everything he spits comes straight from his heart - he fucked up benzino, ICP and many others (even though they are no-names, to be THAT confident in his capabilities and ambitions/morals to diss people just from his judgements shows that he is a TRUE rapper, that is, because he is still on the top & will remain a legend when he dies just as Tupac.. maybe not as significant as Tupac/Biggie Smalls obviously but he changed the rap game a lot). He obviously seems to hold the title of the most accomplished caucasian rapper, which is pretty significant and shows that race doesn't matter in the music industry (or specifically the rap industry).
my personal favorite song:
(lyrics are in description on the side of page)
favorite funny video of him at his concert back then hahaha:

Nobody knows who taped it & it was unknown it was her until ESPN threatened to sue that website out of the blue. Then the Post took over the story and it became a front page article. You can't deny the huge publicity boost to her and ESPN. Just saying...

erin andrews ain't really fading fast... she's in a totally different industry with absolutely no rivals. and yeah it definitely wasn't a "sex tape"...
BisuBoi they are just dissing each other. I don't see how Mariah gets the high ground by the nature of her diss. Mariah is being stuck up, conceited, arrogant, whatever, and she's so embarrassed about the choices she made that she lies about them. Eminem is probably close to the opposite of that, as he revels in his fuck-ups, as you can hear in his songs, and I'd imagine that he just hates people with Mariah's attitude. Plus, with his roots as a freestyle rapper, he just likes to diss people. It's his art. It's his style. He could be a regular dude in real life, but when he's rapping, he acts a certain way, like an author might write about murderers, or an animator might draw singing bears. Their art doesn't define them. So while the subject matter might be real in this case, it's still given a very stylistic presentation.
And imo it's cool to see artists do things like this. Instead of thinking about the meta of it, just take it for what it is. What if some random guy you knew, or even some tl.netter, decided to make a diss song about an ex who is acting bitchy and fucking with him? It'd be awesomely entertaining. It'd take an asshole to come in and question the guy's motives. Eminem probably has a studio in the basement of his house. With his talent, he can write, produce and record a song like that in one day. Why wouldn't he? It's what he does haha. He certainly doesn't give a fuck about negative publicity -- about the people who think he's fucked up for spending his time on something like that.

I guess we'll never know.
lol beautiful rebuttal.
And why anyone would think Eminem won this is beyond me. There's no worse diss than a girl rejecting a guy so bad that she wants to deny ever even being with him. Nothing Eminem says will change that. The fact that he tries to make two whole songs about the issue shows how twisted he is about it. Mariah's attitude the whole way through has been disdain. She's like lol, gtfo, you don't mean jack to me. Eminem's reaction has been shrill outrage and screaming that she shouldn't deny what went down.
In the end Eminem just looks like a multimillionaire that has been completely rejected by a chickenhead. If that's not pathetic, I don't know what is. You'd think a guy with that much money and fame wouldn't be sweating chicks. But he's obv just too lame. First it's his ex-wife (who's dumb AND fugly) and now he's rejected by Mariah Carey, who is an alcoholic soulmate of Nick Cannon.
If anyone actually has a decent rationale for why I'm wrong on this dynamic, feel free to comment. Using fanboy logic like spamming "Eminem owned her" isn't going to cut it...
Well first off we don't exactly know the details of when they were together, or who broke up with who (he mentions in the song about her "getting crazy" after 6 months or so, so for all we know he broke up with her, though that seems increasingly unlikely).
I think you've misinterpreted what most people mean by "won" too. They mean "won" as in who had the better disses and came back harder and faster than the other. Not who actually has the moral high ground in the situation.
